you are tired eyes to match a tired body, and i would like to wrap you up and tell you many things. i’d start with saying that the world doesn’t hate you. you might have bruises dotting your body, and it might rain on days when you plan to leave the house, and sometimes it seems like nothing is going the way you want it to, but the world does not hate you. i’d tell you that sometimes, you need to believe that everything happens for a reason. it’s gotta rain before you see the rainbow, you’ve gotta hurt before you see the reward. people leave you so that new people can arrive, that’s just the way the world works. i’d say that there is nothing wrong with wanting to spend time by yourself. go and find a bus that goes to a suburb you’ve never heard of. get on it. take a book and $5 for a coffee. sit and let yourself discover a new part of the world, i think you’ll be amazed that even in a city, there are so many different types of people. go and see a movie by yourself. don’t share your popcorn with anyone. laugh as loud as you want and cry as hard as you can. the best gift you can ever give yourself is learning to love who you are. i’d tell you that it’s not your fault. whatever it is that keeps you hiding away, it isn’t your fault. i’ll tell you that you are beautiful, and hope that maybe one day you might believe it. the sun deserves to feed life into things which can flourish, and i think that you are so perfectly capable of being touched by that warmth. i’ll remind you that sometimes the world sucks, but you don’t. sometimes things don’t go the way you want them to, but that’s not the end of the world. everything is as good as you make it, and i think you could make something brilliant. i’m going to kiss your forehead and tell you that you are worth being alive. i’ll tell you that the world has a lot to offer, but i’m not going to force you out the door. i cannot take away your sadness and you cannot become a different person overnight. but, hey, you are everything you are and there is a world of potential at your fingertips, and i know you can be so much more. so, go kiss a new day hello and remind yourself that the sun rises so that you can be alive.
