making the radical claim "11 year old children should be taught how to make extremely simple food" has resulted in people making arguments like "I wasnt allowed to plug in electronics until I was 16 and I think this is super normal actually" and "children dont know what ratios are so its unfair to expect them to be able to comprehend the idea of adding equal amounts rice and water to a rice cooker" and I gotta say originally I thought maybe I was being too judgy but now I feel very secure in my opinion because what the fuck
Children might not know what ratios are in the sense of 1:1 notation, but they are more than capable of understanding 'you have to use the same amount of water and rice otherwise it goes wrong'.
In addition to this, cooking is an excellent way to teach children scaling and ratio in Real Life.
"Children don't understand-" AND THAT'S WHY IT IS YOUR JOB TO TEACH THEM????? LIKE HELLO??? THEY CAN LEARN??????
I'm on my way
As a civil engineering student who’s getting into slashers I’m fascinated by the House of Wax 2005. I love the film so much but the concept of a wax house is stuck my brain because how in the ever loving fuck did Trudy get planning permission for that thing. Because like, it’s Trudy’s world famous House Of Wax, so it was probably her that built it, and it’s definitely built for human usage so it’s still bound by the relevant construction legislation. How on earth did she explain that to the construction team? Did they do it like concrete and pour it into formwork and she just carved up the finer details? Were they prefab walls she made and just like hired a crane and a really big blowtorch to weld them together? I’d give my left arm for those specifications, if she made any at all instead of just shipping over like ten trucks worth of wax and going at it herself. Did she claim it was just a really big sculpture to get around the Building Regulations? Or was this totally a thing that could happen in the 80s and I’m just overestimating their safety precautions?
She probably just never told the government and assumed small town = they won’t notice or care, lied that it was concrete on the inside or something if anyone asked and prayed nobody would snitch (and subsequently get waxed along with any wayward safety inspector), but it’s funnier to think of it like this:
jaden if he was normal

I've said it before and I'll say it again. We need a "This is absolutely NOT mature content" feedback button on posts. You can report a post as missing a community label. We should also be able to report posts as having a comminity label when they dont fucking need one.
i respect those people who have sideblogs for all their different interests, if you follow me, you’ll just have to accept you’ll be submitted to whatever nonsense i’m into at the moment

How many people’s most beloved childhood stuffed animals are actually teddy bears, like I feel like that’s a thing someone made up. Reblog this and put what your longest owned and/or favorite stuffed animal as a child was in the tags, inquiring minds want to know
