ASOUE Week: Favourite Quote
📚 ASOUE week 👁️ - Favourite Quote(s)
“In most stories, as you know, the villain would be defeated, there would be a happy ending, and everybody would go home knowing the moral of the story.”
― Lemony Snicket, The Wide Window
Day 5: Favourite Quote(s)- “Me neither,” Violet said, “but if we wait until we’re ready we’ll be waiting for the rest of our lives. Let’s go.”
The Baudelaire rope had made it to the bottom.
But would the Baudelaire children?

“let’s not go overboard,” esmé said. “just because i’m dumping my boyfriend doesn’t mean i’m going to be a goody-goody like you. justice is out. injustice is in. that’s why it’s called injustice.”
The Baudelaires
“Strange as it may seem, I still hope for the best, even though the best, like an interesting piece of mail, so rarely arrives, and even when it does it can be lost so easily.” - Lemony Snicket, The Beatrice Letters.

That no life lives for ever; That dead men rise up never; That even the weariest river Winds somewhere safe to sea.
You won’t even be sure, in fact wether the storm is really over.
When you come out of the storm, you won’t be the same person who walked in.

So imagine my amusement when this turned up as the first shot of the Netflix series:
.
“But I must admit I miss you terribly. The world is too quiet without you nearby. I go to bed early and rise late and feel as if I have hardly slept, probably because I have been reading almost the entire time. In the evenings I play cards, but my mind is never on strategy but on you. With you away, it is as if all the letters in my life are scrambled into an anagram, and I will not be able to put all the letters in order and make sense of anything until you return. I never want to be apart from you again, Beatrice, except in the restroom, at work, and when one of us is at a movie that the other does not want to see. I’ve made a reservation at our usual place for root beer floats after your homecoming performance. There is something I very much want to ask you, but I will not do in a letter.”
