The US single-handedly blocked the UN from recognizing Palestine by vetoing a draft resolution in the Security Council that recommended that “the State of Palestine be admitted to membership of the UN.” With 12 council members voting yes, a clear majority voted in favor; only the UK and Switzerland abstained.
Meanwhile, 139 of the 193 UN member states already recognize Palestine, virtually all of the world safe for the Global North and its closest allies.
Even in the EU, several countries are set to recognize Palestine soon. Since 2012, the Palestinians have been a non-member observer state to the UN, a de facto recognition of statehood granted by the UN General Assembly.
However, the Security Council and then at least two-thirds of the General Assembly must approve an application to become a full member of the world body.
The Palestinian push for full membership came six months into Israel’s devastating war of extermination against the Gaza Strip, and as Israel is expanding settlements in the occupied West Bank, which the UN already considers to be illegal.
Wanted to submit her for Black Girl Magic May but probably finished it late due to timezone variations akdndh. Anyways, I wanted to share my oc ciça :) this is my best drawing i have of her yet and im quite proud
These fucking ads around social media begging people to come visit Abu Dhabi—which is in the UAE—is diabolical considering a genocide in Sudan is happening
Feeling so many things. FLY launches on Kickstarter tomorrow morning. (June 9th 11am EST) however it goes, I am so so glad to pursue freedom through my art in the face of a world that has doubted me and everything I am made of. Much love to you all.
A coming of age story about Black kids who finally have power to fight back against systems designed against them.
Eric Andre is Jewish btw. I feel like a lot of people assume he isn't bc of racism or bc they assume every word out of his mouth is sarcastic but he is Jewish and has talked about it.
Remember when you said lady lost her brother in Palestine au?
So what if she and cat break in to a IDF HQ to find some information and find a torture room full of prisoners that many people thought were dead and she found her brother there so cat knew her identity 🏃🏻♀️👍
I see you trying to be optimistic lol
Her brother really did pass away. Palestinians consider martyrdom a great honor though and Laaiqa has accepted it, she just doesn't want anyone else to go through it. This AU doesn't have all sad aspects only, I just use them to raise awareness or encourage emotions in people, but other than that this AU is very wholesome to me.
On that note, here's an article I recently read that needs more attention
Israeli authorities have dramatically increased their use of administrative detention, a form of arbitrary detention, of Palestinians across

You Are On Native Land collects stories and art donated by some of comics' biggest Indigenous creators such as Jon Proudstar, Maria Wolf, and Steph Littlebird. Tales of Native resistance; family and kinship; love and grief fill this beautiful collection, which includes a special reprint of TRIBAL FORCE #1, credited as the first comic to feature a superhero team made up entirely of Indigenous heroes.
GUYS THIS COMES OUT SEPTEMBER 2026 I NEED EVERYONE TO PULL THIS IT LOOKS SO PEAK
For anybody not caught up: Tennessee just passed a new map that pretty much makes it so black neighborhoods have no power in local votes. Two things about this. While protestors were chanting "No Jim Crow", white Tennessee lawmakers were caught laughing on video. On top of this, Representative Justin Pearson and his brother KeShaun Pearson were arrested for trying to give their takes on the matter (which is not only their legal right but literally his job). If you give a shit about black people, help fight this. We can't allow a return to Jim Crow.
I guess the #dogman fandom is dead without @peanutheaddd around. I learned through a freaking tweet that their accounts (and art associated with them) were completely wiped. I am absolutely devastated because of how much love I had toward their work, their beautiful animatics, their gorgeous art style. They were a keystone to the fandom and to have them gone without a trace? It’s a hollow feeling.
If you’re seeing this @peanutheaddd just know your art touched me deep within my soul, your work and AUs forced a yearning out of me I never thought I had. The fan fiction’s you inspired alone is testament to your creativity and even as everyone moves on I’ll still think of your Dusk AU, as I was planning a huge fanfic centered around it.
I know you have your reasons, but I still wish I was able to save even a few pieces of your work just so I can look at them from time to time. The love pouring out of them was awe inspiring and I will live my life in testament to them.
Nader has spent the last eighteen years of his life in the Gaza strip. He has witnesses war after war, famine, fear, and death. His little cousin is now a toddler and has known nothing but terror herself.
If you'd like to help my friend Nader and his family afford food, medical, and housing costs please consider contributing to Nader's fundraiser, or reblogging! Thank you so much.
For nearly three years, a devastating war has ravaged the Gaza Strip, leaving nothing untouched. We have been starved, besieged, displaced, our homes destroyed, and we have suffered immensely. We have lost so many of our loved ones, and this war continues unabated. We are desperately trying to survive by collecting donations, as they are the only thing that can keep us alive. My father's and brother's workplaces have been destroyed, and my father is battling cancer. Please don't hesitate to donate. Your donations are our only hope. Please donate now.
Please, share and give what you can to help Nader and his family. They have been struggling to survive the seige on Gaza and they still need your help!
Hello, My name is Mosab Elderawi, and I live in Gaza with my family. Life here has become harder than I ever imagined, and I’m writing this with hope in my heart that you might hear our story.
The ongoing war has devastated my family. We’ve lost 25 family members—each one a beloved part of our lives, taken too soon. I miss them deeply—their laughter, their presence, their love. Every day is a reminder of this unimaginable loss.

We are now facing daily challenges to survive—things that most people take for granted, like food, clean water, and a safe place to sleep. The harsh realities of life here have replaced our dreams with the constant fight for survival.
Our Current Situation:
💔 Lost Stability: The war has left us without work or a stable source of income. 🍞 Basic Needs: Food and water are becoming harder to afford with rising prices and scarce resources. 📚 Dreams on Hold: Like so many here, my family’s dreams have been replaced by the need to simply survive. 😢 Unimaginable Loss: Losing 25 loved ones has left a void that can never be filled.
How You Can Help:
I’m sharing our story with the hope that someone out there might care. Even $5 can make a big difference for us, and if you’re unable to donate, just reblogging this post can help spread the word.
Your kindness, no matter how small, is something we’ll never forget.
What This Means to Us:
Your support is not about changing our entire situation—it’s about giving us a little relief, a little hope, and a way to keep going. We are not asking for much, and we understand if you can’t donate. Sharing our story is just as valuable to us as a donation.
Thank you for reading this far. It means the world to us to know that someone is listening. Your kindness gives us strength and helps us believe in a better tomorrow.
With all our gratitude, Mosab Elderawi and Family ❤️
