Russia has become even more brutal and ruthless, destroying towns and villages in the Sumy, Kharkiv, Donetsk, Kherson and Dnipropetrovsk regions. Regional centres such as Sumy and Kharkiv are already being targeted by guided aerial bombs.
Meanwhile, the Ukrainian capital is periodically coming under fire from ballistic missiles. The worst of this occurs during massive strikes on Kyiv.😞
Regarding today’s attack on 2 July 2026: in previous combined and massive attacks, Kyiv was the primary target.
More than 25 ballistic missiles and four Zircon anti-ship missiles were fired at my city, along with other types of missiles and various kinds and modifications of drones, such as the Shahed and Geran.
The difficult evening of 1 July gradually gave way to the hardest and most terrifying night of 2 July. The preferred time in the Russian Federation for ballistic missile attacks is between 1 am and 4 am. During this time, explosions rang out continuously.
The result of this attack was strikes on 25 locations; the victims were predominantly residential buildings and civilian infrastructure, such as a hotel, a Nova Poshta warehouse, medical facilities, a publishing house warehouse and Red Cross warehouses, as well as the Kyiv Zoo, amongst others.
At present, 23 people are known to have died and around 100 have been injured. The Darnytskyi district of Kyiv has been hardest hit; there, a missile partially destroyed five of the nine storeys of a residential block. There are still people trapped under the rubble, and so the State Emergency Service and special services are continuing their search and rescue operation. At another location, a rocket struck the courtyard of a residential block, resulting in significant damage to four high-rise buildings.
It was a terrifying and difficult experience for us; with every passing moment, the noise grew louder and louder, and there were more and more of those damned rockets. Every time the rockets drew nearer or explosions rang out, we held each other tight.💔💔💔
And it is the animals who suffer the most, as they cannot understand what is happening or why. Although the animals at the zoo were not physically injured, they still suffered psychological trauma and severe stress.
Even my cat, who has remained more or less unfazed by the shelling over the last five years, has recently started to get scared and hide from the explosions. The Russians do not care whether innocent children or animals are killed; they want to destroy Ukrainians and our country, our culture, our language and our traditions.
That is precisely why we must always remember the lies, the crimes and all the suffering inflicted on us by the Russians, so that we do not repeat the mistakes of the past.❤️🩹❤️🩹❤️🩹
