i guess this has been a long time coming, but i figured iâd make an official post about it. iâd like to announce that iâm officially leaving the rotumblr community.
there are quite a few reasons iâve come to this decision. but iâm not trying to bore everyone to tears, so iâll keep it short. iâve been involved in this community for a long while. well over a year, and as time went on writing on here became less and less fun. i kept going for a long while even after i was sick of it, but to make a long story short, iâm tired. iâm not obligated to continue existing in this space. iâm an adult, i have many things to worry about, and my interests have expanded beyond pokemon. i simply donât have it in me to continue.
that said, i will always cherish the memories i made here. met a lot of great people, made a lot of friends, had a lot of fun. but itâs time to move on with my life. thanks for everything, rotumblr community. and goodnight.

Iono yawns as she plops down on an outdoor table to consume a very tasty and very overflowing sandwich, her Mismagius trailing behind to watch her back. The coat she's usually wearing is tied around her waist, mostly because she's not in the mood for getting Dr Scovillian BBQ Sauce on her coat when she digs into the sandwich already falling apart in her hands.
(At least she has a lot of napkins under her to catch the bacon and peppers before they hit the table and become uneatable.)
Has it been a long day? Yeah, you could say that. After all, she usually plops down on outdoor tables with the biggest sandwich she can make after long days. The only reason she's probably not allowed to say it's been a long day unless she's joking is because it's barely one in the afternoon and she doesn't officially end her day until dinner at 5:20. Perhaps she's just hungry. And a little angry. Hangry, then.
"Lotsa peeps out," Iono remarks to her Mismagius idly. Some of them are staring at her. Well, at least they look like they're staring at her because she is the super awesome Iono and not staring at her shoulder. "Wonder if anyone else is going to sit down. I'd expect more people to be out 'n eatin' in the open on a day like this, y'know?"
[ quite frankly, grusha was not in the mood to go out today.
he would much rather be spending his day the way he spends most of his days off. rotting in bed, all while drinking his sorrows away. but alas, grusha isnât known for getting what he wants.
altaria and gyarados wanted to go out. as much as he tried to resist, going as far as to seal the two away in their pokeballs, the two rambunctious pokemon would not take no for an answer. so grusha finds himself outside on a disgustingly sunny day. still wearing his usual winter coat and scarf.
altaria, who had taken the lead on their little journey, repeatedly looked back, just to make sure grusha was still following her. all while gyarados seemed distracted by just about everything he laid eyes on. heâd stop to sniff every few seconds. grass, flowers, rocks, dirt, wild pokemon. youâd think heâd never been out in the wild before this day.
grusha adjusts his scarf as he continues down the path. he walks with a slight limp. the pain is getting to him today, but itâs not completely unbearable either. plus, he wasnât planning on staying out much longer. he was going to grab a bite to eat, and then he was in a taxi and on his merry way back home. but of courseâŚ
out of the corner of his eye, he noticesâŚher. grusha is not in the mood to deal with anyone, least of all the loud, outspoken, energetic supercharged streamer. he hasâŚcomplex feelings on her. hell, his relationships with nearly all the league are pretty strained. even so, he continues walking, hoping and praying she doesnât spot him and continues scarfing down that sandwich. ]
Iono is about to chomp on her sandwich with what will probably be enough force to collapse the thing when she spots blue hair and two Pokemon that she's pretty sure belong to someone she knows. The Pokemon, not the hair, though if her suspicions are correct the hair goes along with the two Pokemon.
She waves excitedly at Grusha as she sets down the sandwich, nodding to the sandwich place and then pointing straight down to the table she's sitting at in what she thinks is a clear indication of an invitation to sit or eat, though in case it doesn't work she whisper-yells "here!!"
The sandwich off her mind for the time being, (though her stomach is beginning to growl a little) she wipes hands on a napkin beside her, pushing herself and the sandwich to the side of the table so he can sit beside her if he'd like. Or in front. Both is good!
She's glad she brought extra napkins now. Overpreparation for one makes perfect preparation for two! And while she's not exactly sure how to feel about Grusha, she's sure it wouldn't be too bad to hang out with him for a while.

[ wellâŚhe could just pretend he didnât see or hear her, make his way to the shop, and then he could simply wait it out until iono leaves. then again, there might be fans in the shop too. maybe there was a back door he could slip out throughâŚno, his leg is already hurting as is, he doesnât need to be sneaking around a business.

grusha lets out a defeated sigh. he knows good and well altaria does not take no for an answer. and he certainly isnât in the mood to get pecked in the face a million times. gyarados wanders over to the table as well, now sniffing at the sandwich. interesting.
grusha simply pinches the bridge of his nose. how he wishes the earth below him would open up and swallow him whole. ]
Iâll. Get our food. Give me a minute.
[ his voice is low, barely even a whisper. but with that, he ducks into the shop. ]
Iono giggles when Altaria glides over to the table, waving at the Pokemon as well too. It's a cute lil' one, though not as much as Belibolt or the one she's been training up to join her team.
She's about to ask Grusha if Gyarados can have a little bit because it's just so sweet that it's sniffing her sandwich and besides the thing is more of a pile of ingredients now, but then he murmurs something she thinks is about getting food before disappearing into the shop, and shrugs, carefully placing an extra napkin over her food to protect it for now.
"I should have offered to pay," she mutters to herself, making a mental note to offer again once he gets back. Though it's not like she really had the time to say it between when he saw her and when he went to get food. Then again, if she hadn't been so delighted by Altariaâ
Whatever. It'll be fine; she's getting to hang out with a fellow gym leader and that's what matters. 'Course, there's no viewers to compliment them, (aside from the people who do occasionally stop and stare at her because she Iono, or the people who glance a few times at her arm and shoulder) or anyone to sub or donate, but that's fine. It's not like performing is her whole personality!
[ altaria snuggles closer to iono, making sure to get good and comfortable. she knew all too well that grusha was willing to do nearly anything for her sake. surely it wouldnât hurt him to hang out with another person for a little while. better than being locked up in his home all day.
gyarados continues to sniff at the sandwich, his teeth ghosting the napkin. that is, until grusha emerged out of the shop, bag of food in his hand. hey, at least the line was practically nonexistent.
he lets out a sigh as he makes his way over to the table, opting to sit across from iono. he sets the bag on the table. without a word, he digs into the bag, first pulling out an ice cold bottle of beer. grusha had the feeling heâd need to be the tiniest bit buzzed to get through this interaction.
heâs still healthy silent as he pulls off his mittens and sits them to the side before pulling his sandwich out of the bag. just a ham sandwich, nothing too special. ]
Iono keeps a careful eye on Gyarados, but most of her attention is on Altaria, hesitantly reaching up to pat the Pokemon until Grusha comes out, at which point she pulls her hands away like she's been caught doing something.
Her eyes go to the beer and she almost makes a face. Almost. But it's his decisionâ 'sides, she's not known for her good taste herself.
"Your Pokemon are such cuties!" she gushes, smiling wide enough to show a good portion of her sharp teeth. "Can I make a teensy donation to your Gyarados? It's suuper interested in my sandwich. Not that it's much of a sandwich anymore, nyehehe!"
Truth be told, this is how most of her food ends up. At least she got a plastic fork in case it did fall apart the second she picked it up. It's not her fault entirelyâ any kid in Paldea with a voracious appetite has definitely had an overstuffed sandwich deconstruct itself in front of them.
I'm thinking about food too much, she thinks and then remembers her manners.
"Hey, whatever your meal cost, consider it on me," she says, Rotom phone floating up to her side so she can pay him back. "My treat! For hangin' out with me."
[ immediately, grusha cracks open his beer. he probably shouldâve gotten two. ionoâs voice is so gratingâŚugh. he shouldâve just stayed home.
