my two cents that no one asked for: tumblr banning porn will lead to its failure in 2019 because they’ve failed to grow with their audience. back when this site was new and gaining traction, the target audience was early teens and growth was at its prime. Hence the manjority of accounts in existence and the users still present on its domain stem from that period of time. That user percentage has grown from young teens to young and mature adults and with that comes maturity, interest. Adult content becomes a reasonable contribution to post development. Tumblr’s decision to ban adult content last month is a declaration from them that they intend to keep their target audience as young teens, even though the community’s growth has obviously diminished with age as new media sites have emerged in past years: TikTok, the musically one, etc. Hundreds examples exist out there of how failure to adapt and grow with the target audience leads nowhere, and by the end of this year Tumblr will become a prime example.

It’s sad, knowing that this site has so much nostalgia for me, but it’ll serve as a good memory and record of my personal growth as well. Love you all who’ve been though the same and remember to embrace change 😘 💕✌️
