academia is fake you can only trust your fists
The saddest thing that can happen to a person is to find out their memories are lies.
Juan Gabriel Vásquez (via quotemadness)
It does me no good; violence has changed me. / My body has grown cold like the stripped fields; / now there is only my mind, cautious and wary, / with the sense it is being tested.
Louise Glück, from Averno; “October” (via eveninglesbian)
“What happened to that unusually compassionate raccoon?”

WHAT DID I DO
I know you all have seen this already, but this is also hinted at in the Civil War preludes . I heavily recommend reading them if you are excited about Civil War, like having your heart broken and don’t care too much about minor spoilers.
when they tamed you, when they made you, they took something wild and feral and said: ‘this is how you walk among men, this is how you pass as one: this is how you stand, how you sit, this is how you eat and talk. (do not growl, do not bare your teeth: you are no longer just beast, you are now man as well). ‘this is when you bite and when you tear, this is when you purr and sit docile. (you are a pet, a weapon: we forged you into what you are now.) this is how you make them think you are helpless, (bare your throat, not your teeth: tilt your head back. show submission and bide your time). and this is how you tear out their still-beating heart.’ what they did not account for is that when you forge a weapon, when you take something feral and give it the mask of man, you must never forget what you started with.
their blood is on your hands now, and you smile at the moonless sky with blood matted in your hair. (CNS)
"Buckyyyyyy," Zephine walked over to her companion and rested her head on his lap. She looked up at him with a warm smile. "Hi," she greeted. -boundinmybones
Bucky looks down at his visitor with an emotionless, calculating frown. He picks up a handful of her hair and drops it in her face. There. He smiles briefly at her, then goes back to surveying the area, still smiling.
Zephine saw the frown on his face, he must have been thinking very densely in order to get such a strong expression. Still he was smiling now. “Hey…I was thinking we could make something special for dinner tomorrow. It’s Valentines day.” she spoke. Hash browns were going to be a guarantee, “do you like sweets?” she asked.
The soldier doesn’t look back at Zephine right away, but his expression changes as he considers. Food is good. “Something special” is probably very good. Sweets were very very forbidden by HYDRA, so sweets are very very good. Consideration complete. He looks back down at Zephine and smiles more widely than before. “It’s a holiday,” he says. It’s partly a statement, to say he’s figured it out thanks to context, and partly a question, to make sure he’s right.

*blows the dust off this blog* hi everyone hi followers WOW it’s been a while
I’m getting ready to make this blog active again woop woop! For my own sanity I’d like to go ahead and kill all the threads that are older than a few months, just start nearly completely fresh. That’s saying goodbye to some good stuff I recognize, but sanity is so important too right. If you really want to keep an old thread going (and we haven’t already talked about it), we can talk. I’d rather start new threads, though, just because it’s been so long and I’ve been personal-growth-ing and I just wanna proceed from here with where I’m at now instead of trying to recreate things from the past. If that. Even makes sense. Ha ha.
