You said that meeting me has made you a better person. That even though you believed yourself to be a good person before, you have learned many things about yourself since meeting me. I know that I can be a challenge sometimes, but you are the most supportive person. You lift me up when I’m down and catch me when I fall and you have physically SAVED MY LIFE. You are lovingly (jokingly) known to my immediate family as Saint Jason. You said that you thought you were good with kids and then you met Celia Santiago, Cayla and Noah Olitzky and your world changed. You instantly became the world’s greatest uncle and best friend. Now there are seven of them and they all love you dearly. You even let them climb on you like a jungle gym and giggle your head off while you’re so tired and practically dead to the world. Last night, I told Jason what made me fall in love with him eight years ago. It was all the little things he said and did over time. One of the first things I noticed about him was how considerate he was; always putting me and my comfort first before his own. A few months into our brand new relationship, and he had arranged to go into work late just so that he could take me to a therapy appointment and meet my therapist. He wanted to learn more about me and my disabilities. That was his way. He did things like that all the time and each time, I fell in love with him a little more. He finally told me he loved me eight months in, but he knew that I loved him the whole time even though I had was waiting for him to say it out loud first. This photo is from December 5th, 2022 at 10:11 AM. We were both tired and anxiously waiting for my name to be called in the waiting room at the hospital before major abdominal surgery. I was scared and worried that I might not wake up, but I trusted my doctor and knew I was in good hands. Jason was with me through some major life shattering events and he even saved my life once when he caught me as I fainted in 2020. I could have died if he hadn’t been home to hear me scream for help and gently laid me on the floor so I could breathe again! I love this man so much. My five year old niece drew a picture of Auntie Cassie and Uncle Todd as a bride and groom on their wedding day tomorrow.
