I’ve been reading your posts and omg your anons are so weird, they proper hate Harry, like why??? and must have something against Voldemort too cause what’s their problem with him getting the attention he deserves and being in a sexual position that actually gives him that?
Good point. They are just a jealous troll harasser who despises Harry and doesn't actually like Voldemort. And yes, they hate Harry precisely because he's the protagonist, since he matters more than any self-insert character they try to shove into their story. And it's obvious when they claim that Harry should be nothing more than the Dark Lord's pet, because for them that's the only dynamic that makes sense for Tomarry (also they're not even a Tomarrymort shipper, the irony!). And you understand that they could never actually like the ship anyway — even people who reinterpret one character or the other wouldn't take it as far off base or misguided as they do.
Going back to your excellent point: I say they don't truly like Voldemort because they refuse to analyze him with any genuine passion, beyond the worshipping 'passion' lens of some random Death Eater in love with an idea of who he isn't. He's far more realistic, complex, intense, and flawed — a paradox of seeking perfection through imperfection — than the empty shell they reduce him to. For them, Voldemort can only feel anything when it fits a sexual fetish or completes whatever self-insert fantasy they've paired him with. He's never allowed to exist as a being on his own, because that would "taint" the perfect (sexually), purely powerful image they cling to — the same image canon itself deconstructs.
Or maybe they just skipped some chapters while they were busy getting off to the thought of Lord Voldemort stepping out of the pages to fuck them right there? Incidentally, they would still "like" Tomarry if Harry were just a pet, because that way, they'd still be able to identify with whoever Voldemort is fucking. There it is.
So, if you ever come across that kind of troll bothering Tomarry shippers, just remember: they don't even understand Voldemort's character. When I say he's not merely some 'darkness academia prodigy lord,' that's exactly what they see; just a figure of power tied to the carnal aspect. The moment you challenge that, they get defensive and reduce Harry (the protagonist, let's say!) to an average background character.
Honestly, I just wish those people would stop harassing others who actually love and explore the character for who he is — people who can appreciate him in his actual layers. Because Tom Riddle being vulnerable, in any sense, would never be a liability. The only ones who see it that way are those too desperate to escape their own reality, projecting it onto a fictional character.
