nothing will ever ruin vsmp for me.

vsmp is the reason i started writing and drawing again, it’s the reason my art is at the level it is at today. vsmp is the reason i have bonded with so many people, formed friendships, and gained so many lovely mutuals.

vsmp is the reason that i am a staple in the mcyt art community, that my art is recognized and i, as a person, continue to feel loved and valued on this corner of the internet.

vsmp is the reason i met my best friend, of which i am meeting up with irl for the first time today! (im actually shaking im so excited)

and although this may be a rough patch in the community, this is not a reason to allow this to destroy everything you felt, everything that vsmp meant to you. the fans and supporters of this show made it to be what it is today, and i am forever grateful for that.

vsmp doesn’t have to mean anything except for your love.

the best fanfiction you've ever read was written by a woman in her 40s before she made dinner for her kids. it was written by a teenager after school when they should've been studying for a history test. and a barista came up with the idea while they cleaned the espresso machine and busser fact-checked it on their break and the post-doc edited between writing grant proposals and the nurse apologized for typos in the notes after a long shift and behind every drabble and one-shot and multi-chapter fic there is a person with a wonderful and interesting and chaotic life and it is such a privilege that we get to be a part of it because they decided to do this thing we all share, for fun.

Small reminder that if you have written a fic/created art/made something about a character played by a creator that turned out to be a bad person, you are well within your right to keep that piece up or continue working on it because liking a character is not the same as supporting a creators actions

But also reminder that if someone takes their work down then you have to respect that as everybody processes things differently and may want to fully distance themselves from that creator.

My brief thoughts on the MCYT stuff coming out:

The revelations made over the past two days about Avid and Marm have been, as I'm sure we all agree, heartbreaking. I've been reading all the statements from the victims and learning all the horrible things they have done (thank you so much starry-blooms for compiling the statements), and it really hurts to see how much these people have been hurt. I wish all the victims the best, and I'm glad they have both eachother and supportive fan bases for help.

As for Avid and Marm, I will no longer be associating with any of their content at all. And while I acknowledge those who are able to separate character from creator, and hold absolutely no ill will for those working to reclaim the characters for the fandoms, I personally going forward will not be doing so. I won't be going back and retroactively undoing stuff I've liked in the past (that deal with a character, anything with the creators will be deleted), and I will still support those in the fandom choosing to either rework or reclaim their stories/characters. While it sucks to abandon the first real fic I have ever made, let alone posted, I do not feel comfortable continuing it, and will not be finishing it.

This is a rough time, and again, my best wishes to everyone hurt by the horrible actions of Avid and Marm.

I'm listening to the Magnus Archives with some friends, and I need some early series fanworks to share with them*

We've finished season one and just started season two**, so spoilers up to that point are fine, or if they're vague enough about future stuff, that should be fine too!

*this includes just about anything fanmade: fanfics, fanart, fanimatics, etc, any and all of it :D

**I have finished the whole series, and am relistening to it with my friends. I'm trying to find non spoiler fan stuff to bring them into the fandom side. It just seems like later seasons are more popular in the fandom for some unknown reasons XP
