i love fics that feel so... grown. fics about adults that were written by adults who have years of life experience under their belts who pour that into their writing. fics where you can tell this is a person who has lived through a marriage or a divorce or a child or children or parent death or any number of Huge Life Events because the way they write with an emphasis on the highs and lows of the human experience rather than an emphasis on tropes (not throwing shade) is just so. oh man, it's just so fucking good. if my blorbos are grown men, grown women, grown people, i love it when they feel like grown people, not just extensions of the (young) author's imagination. (still not throwing shade). you know?

xavier baxter is really the character of all time. like. he’s a high school slacker archetype. he was accused of murdering his girlfriend. his favorite movie is dirty dancing. he can see ghosts. he’s a terrible boyfriend. he’s the world’s most supportive ex boyfriend. he tried to spill salt on a ghost to exorcise them. his online username is shredhead. he was hit by a car and died for a few minutes. his dad is the sheriff and he loves to break and enter. he’s scared of hospitals. he makes bird noises to alert his friends of danger. he’s never once had the brain cell. he has unnervingly blue eyes. he definitely has brain damage. he’s uncomfortable in the morgue but hangs out there with his ex girlfriend’s dad. he has a thing for strong women. he’s trying to be a better person. he’s smarter than he gives himself credit for.

guys currently having the time of my life rn writing my first ever fic for school spirits

obviously having the doors not be the end feels a little bit like a copout to keep the characters we love around longer BUT i actually kind of like it

to get your exit door, you have to relive and move past your worst nightmare, your biggest fear.

and to get to the other side of the river, you have to be ready to leave behind all the good memories, too.

at each step on the ladder, you have to confront parts of yourself and be ready to move on. i think thats kind of beautiful

whenever I talk to someone and they tell me that maddie annoys them and they don't like her, I immediately consider every single opinion of theirs about the show null and void. sorry but I absolutely love my bitch of a daughter who's going through the most traumatic events of her life and I will not accept maddie nears slander in my home. she is doing her best with a continuous stream of terrible situations and honestly I'm surprised it's taken her this long to crash out. she deserves to be as annoying as she wants, actually I think she should become more unlikeable to people. I'll still be here singing her praises.
