Hello!!!

Welcome to my Supernatural side blog!! My regular blog (@sauron-writes-slash) was getting overrun, so I’ll be posting spn stuff here now. I’m also going back and reblogging my spn posts from my main blog to here, so everything is probably going to get a little jumbled and out of order but at least it’ll be in the same place!!!

I’m deeply obsessed with spn and have watched like six seasons of it in the span of a month, so. I’m not really a samgirl deangirl or casgirl; I think they’re all amazingly complex and also entirely fucked in the head, and I love all of them deeply and for different reasons

I ship Destiel mainly but as I said on my main blog, I can be talked into shipping anything if you can give me a convincing argument! I’m not weird about people experiencing a fandom or source media differently than I do; I think it’s awesome that spn gives us so much to work with and that will necessarily lead different people to like and care about different parts of it

anyone else ever think about how "the man who would be king" is framed as castiel's prayer to his father for a sign as to whether or not he's on the right path, and it ends with him defeated, thinking that there is no sign. but that sign. was literally dean. he tells cas at the end of the episode that he isn't going to "logic" him with reasons about why opening purgatory is a bad idea, and instead asks cas to stop, "just cause." he demands that cas have faith in his judgement the same way god asks for blind faith. and that. that was cas' sign.

Dean met an ex-porn star and suddenly the dialogue is like. A parody of a bad porn flick. Like what is his life those lines should NOT have worked I kept expecting that scene to be so embarrassing for him but somehow she was into it??? I’m so confused

jump the shark is such a funny episode to me because like. it's the perfect example of dean being fucked in the head because of daddy issues and childhood trauma meanwhile there's just something Wrong with sam. the entire episode dean is like jealous times 100 of adam and his time with john. and sam is like. let's give this kid a gun. let's teach him to shoot. let's make him into the perfect metaphor for me corrupting and marooning my old innocent self. let's turn into my father. let's Use Him as Bait.

if I see one more person compare Sam starting to drink demon blood to some power hungry egotistical thing i’m going to SCREAM.

because I have never heard such a fundamentally wrong interpretation of Supernatural quite like that one. he wasn’t doing it because he wanted to be the most powerful, all he wanted was to save people. he was scared and devastated by his brother‘s death, a death he felt helpless in preventing, and that was being used to manipulate him into thinking, “maybe if I keep drinking demon blood I can actually save people”

and also, it wasn’t some egotistical thing, he didn’t think he was stronger than the demon blood and would just be fine after, that interpretation might make me the most upset of all.

when Sam Winchester started drinking demon blood, he wanted to DIE. pre-season four, when Dean was in hell, he tried to go into a fight with Lilith with every intention of dying in the process.

sam starting to drink the blood was not him trying to gain power and influence for himself, it was the equivalent of him strapping a suicide bomb to his chest with the intention of walking into enemy headquarters.

i know we (spn fandom) stay talking about jacting joices and for good reason but honestly as a theater kid im gonna say that misha collins was truly living The Actors Dream like this man got Lazurus Rising, the Entrance Of All Time, literally CHANGED THE COURSE OF THE ENTIRE SHOW by being so iconic that he took a character that was supposed to stick around for what a handful episodes and turned him into THEE literal beating heart of the show AND ON TOP OF THAT got to be Emmanuel, crazy!Cas, Godstiel, Casifer, the literal personification of The Empty, and ALSO got the single most iconic love confession on television of all time
