I hope everyone understands that YouTube removing dislikes is 100% another symptom of advertisers being allergic to having their ads run in any context that could even remotely be construed as putting them in a bad light, even something so trivial as a video with a poor like/dislike ratio. All content and features that are not directly conducive to monetisation will ultimately be purged.
I swear, this whole “Removing Dislikes” Controversy is just going to lead to an era where people comment “Dislike” a million times, prompting Youtube to then remove the ability to comment on certain videos before they even publish the damn things
I mean, the endgame of the corporatised Internet has always been to partition the online sphere into a set of walled gardens where only Approved Creators who Go Through Proper Channels are permitted to publish or publicly engage with content of any kind, with everyone else reduced to a passive consumer. They’re just doing it by increments.
