hi I'm Jamie! this is my new blog for super smash brothers posting! I'll reblog posts and fan art, and I'll likely reblog personal ssb stuff from my art blog, which can be found at @pandrena . Also, this is a side blog and I follow new people thru my personal, @protoblues !

my favorite game is Brawl, though I grew up with Melee. Ultimate gets points because it added Daisy!

My mains are Sonic, Peach or Daisy and I must confess I like to dabble in playing Snake. my least favorite to play are Lucas and Ness because I am simply not good with them.

I'm over 25 and a white trans man. I would prefer minors not try to personally engage with me or my other blogs, though following and interacting his one is fine. I'd rather just keep my distance in terms of dms and the like, although the blog is safe for work!

Extremely fun attention to detail/characterization is the bit in subspace emmisaey of all the characters coming together even with their respective villains. Especially the way Link and Zelda look at each other and nod before reviving Ganondorf. agreeing to bring back their Forever Enemy for the sake of needing help with everything else going on. idk its neat

I'll just say, it's not that my brain is overrun with Mario headcannons. Butif I open that gate just a tiny bit, all of the ideas flood out and I get to piece it all together a lil bit at a time. So yep :] You saw the intention👌

snake straightup being introduced in subspace emissary by being under the box really early tbqh but then taking. at least an hour(??) of gameplay it felt like . to when he throws the box off and says something abt keeping us waiting. but its alright bc i may be wrong but i feel like i remember sonic showing up at like The Very End . at least snake they had a joke for

if diddykong smash brothers brawl has no fans im dead hes just a lil guy and him interacting wtih fox and falco is so sweet...diddy kong getting hit by the arrow while walking w fox...made me emotioonal even if he just. got saved right away and all. weh

still in awe how brawl can legitimately put together a story with no dialogue . like even in ultimate, the story mode begins with voice acting in that first scene AND narration added to explain the situation the player will find. then aside from grunts and laughs and other wordless effects, subspace emissary does not have to do anything except see whats going on and to me in an easy to understand flow + framing.

this isnt to insult ultimate. its a very different execution of events, but i suppose the story in question is much different than brawl. and also what would be the point of subspace emissary 2? but overall I just admire brawl's approach to depicting scenes with a lot of (wordless) personalty in the writing
