Guess whoâs also asleep. itâs a lazy day, it seems.
Continues to snore loudly until falling out of bed. Oof.
âLuigi. Luigi.â Begins to lazily poke him awake.
Sleeps and dreams about a giant plate of pasta as Toad Town is being run amok by Goombas. Hah. Ridiculous.
Mario~ how have you been my Beautiful red hat plumber~â€
⊠oh no.
âU-Uh, couldnât-a be better! Just goinâ around, making sure the Rabbids are comfy at the castle while theyâre here⊠err, how have you been? Iâm sure youâve been-a busy what with all those pictures youâre always taking.â
:c She still doesn't like him. THROWS LICORICE CANDIES AT THIS PLUMBER WHILE WATCHING TV.
Has the licorice candy bap him on the head. Which he ends up eating anyway.
âDid I, uh... do something to you, miss? Weâve barely spoken for a minute and itâs like Iâm some sorta ghoul to you!â
â Who are you? â
QUESTION SENTENCE STARTERS.
âPlumber extraordinaire at your service! You can-a call me Mario.â Though admittedly he didnât do much plumbing nowadays.
âDonât-a mind me, maâam. I was just, erm... wandering a bit here tillâ I can find a way to get home. Iâm something of a traveler, so I tend to end up in unfamiliar areas on a regular basis.â He scratched at his chin. âVery, very unfamiliar areas -- ehehe, that is, what is this place again?â
âAre you ready?â
QUESTION SENTENCE STARTERS.
âIf you mean-a ready to dig into pasta dinner, then sure am!â
âI knew I wouldnât really find anymore as ready than, err, myself!â

â - âThatâs what I was thinkinâ.â A voice chimes in while tailing behind the one known as the Kingdomâs Superstar. As the shrubbery was handled by his newest companion, the teenâs task was to weave through the incoming branches that were unintentionally sent slinging back, keeping the pressed bushes at bay for a bit longer, alongside surveying the area of this once vibrant kingdom. A not so good feeling was already stirring within his gut the further they managed.
What they discover within remote neck of the woods is stronghold that holds a distinct lack of life. Even at the front it was eerily silence, the sort of silence grated out by a voice draining away all the life within a remote setting. A sleek, polished foundation kept the building upward, multiple windows holding stained glass witnessed as a frigid dark aura permeated the area, causing the local wildlife from Dayzees to even the territorial piranha plants at bay. Soraâs facial features tightened at the side of this place.
âNo doubt about it.. I can feel it. Thereâs darkness here that are putting a lot of the Heartless we seen to shame so far.â
âNot that I have to remind ya, but letâs keep sharp.â With that said the slow advance to the stronghold begins. Unknown to them there were eyes lurked within the shadows, literally, vengeful expressions that would keep sharp tabs upon the approaching two heroes as they neared the area. For now they would bring themselves to attack just yet, oh no, let the brazen fools get closer, all in the name of being encroached and devoured by the darkness that aims to eagerly devour these powerful lights.
Soraâs expression for the time being looked troubled as he peers around the location. Multiple sigils of all sorts could be found painted on the groudds around them, something he wisely kept out of range of as they continued forth. Erected columns that would be perfect for lookouts didnât even hold any grunts to man the particular stations. For the time being a curious look was given over to Mario.
âThis makes a first that Iâve ever seen stuff like this.. And youâre telling me what was he called? Bowser right? He never really messed with stuff like this? Cause far as I seen there isnât any Heartless that are big enough wise guys to cook up things this big. Theyâre usually a lot more.. animalistic? Yâknow, more about the bite now and think later.â
âMmhmm.â He gave a nod before following after Sora, making sure to keep cautious with the various traps this place was teeming with. Mario had no idea what the heck all this was meant to spell, except for the fact that itâs perhaps wise to follow his new friendâs cue and not mess with them.
The eerie silence aside from their own voices felt a lot more overbearing than heâd like.
âIf Bowser happens to be behind all this, Iâd say heâs really changed his game plan this-a time around.â Whether this is expected or not, honestly, is up in the air.
âThat big oleâ turtle is usually up to-a no good, yeah, but Iâm not sure if itâs of this caliber. Besides, heâs always one for theatrics and brute force, and nothing... well, nothing-a creepy like this.â He took another look at the ominous fortress before them, the stained glass emphasizing this twisted air only associated with the building in question.
Searching through his memory -- one chock full of adventures gone by where the plumberâs encountered all sorts of situations -- only one in particular had stood out to him that offered a haunting parallel. Could it really be the case, heâd ask himself? No, it canât be. Heâs recalled sealing away that accursed thing so long ago that it was nothing but an inside story to both himself and Luigi.
This just has to be something different, thatâs all.
âWell, no better way to go but in now, eh?â He chuckled, trying to make light of the situation. Mario would slowly make his way forward to happen upon what appeared to be the fortressâs front doors themselves. Certainly it couldnât be as simple as waltzing right in, could it?
Heâd place a gloved hand on the door handle, and giving it a firm push, it began to slowly creak open to invite them further inside.
â... oh. Guess they left their front door open.â Yeah he knew they werenât going to like this.
Heâs not sure whoâs getting married but he WILL eat the wedding cake while no oneâs looking.

The explanation Faye had gotten⊠proved to do little to actually chase away any uncertainties in the villagerâs head. She had first assumed the man had been a rider that was cast aside by its owner, but it was a WELL-KNOWN FACT that pegasi DETESTED men. He shouldnât have even been able to get to a high enough altitude in the sky to be thrown off like this in the first place.
â Listen, Mister, I have no idea what this KITCHEN SINK thing is that you were apparently â fixing, â but you canât have just WARPED here. I had no reason to do that! And none of my friends know rewarp to send some weird man to my help. â
Stuck in her Valentian ways, she refuses to see it from his point of view or help explain this new place to him in her rebuttal. Heâs confused, sheâs confused, and between the two, HER confusion is the more important one if you ask her!
â Whatever, you helped me out so I guess thatâs okay⊠BUT how do I know youâre not a threat? â The temporary lilt in her voice quickly changes more aggressive as she raises her staff, poised to cast a spell at a momentâs notice. â Promise me you wonât hurt my friends or itâs gonna REALLY hurt for you. â
Oops... he really had a lot of explaining to do, didnât he?
Mario immediately raised his hands in tandem with seeing the girlâs staff in question. He didnât know what would happen if it were to be used -- turning into a frog, having a bucket placed on his head? Goodness, especially not the latter one.
âR-Really, Iâm-a telling the truth! I swear on all the Mushrooms and spaghetti in the world that I was warped here on a whim.â Heâs not sure how convincing that would sound, aside from making him sound even more suspect.
âEhehe... presumably, this fellow here isnât your friend, is he?â He motioned over to the man who was crumpled on the ground, still groaning in pain. Understandable, since Mario did kind of stomp him from several stories high earlier. In the end, he wasnât really planning on stomping anyone today, especially in another world entirely (or so it seemed like another world).
âAre you and your other friends in-a trouble?â
âWhat is a Paper Mario? A miserable little pile of gimmicks?â
â This is your bright idea of a plan? â
QUESTION SENTENCE STARTERS.
âOf course it is!â
âLook, Wario. I know we donât see eye to eye a lot, and you donât-a like me, but⊠weâre gonna have to work together on this one. Those pirates are gonna have us for mushroom stew otherwise.â
Leave it to the two of them to end up face to face with a clan of Shy Guy pirates who had docked their galleon at the edge of town. As fate would have it, Mario didnât have anyone to ask for help except from Wario of all people, so... it was a matter of gathering his wits to force some synergy between them. If such a thing was possible.Â
Err, heâs dealt with pirates many times before though, right?
âSo letâs a make sure we sink their ship right away with those Bob-Ombs theyâre carrying around. Itâll leave emâ with less supplies!â And effectively sink all the treasure on board, but that was only petty punk change to Wario, right?
I like to think that Mario secretly loves baking, y'know?
I also like to think that Mario brings cupcakes to Kart Races. And since I have a new follower who is a mario fan. I think you should see this. @superstarjump

â„ | âOf course, Mario. I canât believe I let my guard down when that light took me, but I thank you for freeing me from his control.â
âI mustâve been quite the handful, but Iâll definitely help you stop them.â Still, it was just unthinkable, to fall by Galeemâs grasp and be imprisoned for cloning until her spirit was awakened once more. But thatâs all behind them. The fate of the world rest in their hands, for if they donât prevail, light or darkness will conquer and eradicate all that lives. To think, that they canât continue the Smash Tournament if the world is at stake like this.
âThereâs still others whoâre trapped by Galeemâs control, letâs rescue them and free the others, as well as the spirits in those clones!â
âItâs okay! We were, well, all taken by surprise from a literal flash of light. There was... only so much we could do.â He too felt ashamed for not thinking of a plan quickly enough -- consider themselves fortunate that one fighter was able to escape and set forth the rescue party.
As per usual with his mantra, no better way to move but forward. Or jump, in his case.
âAnd thank you, Princess. It means a lot.â Mario sighed to himself, looking towards the horizon that theyâve been traveling for so long now, wondering where his friends and especially his own brother had run off to. The battles were only just beginning, and he felt that himself and his ally were not far from engaging in them pretty soon.
âYâknow, whatâs gonna happen with all these spirits once weâre done here? I recognize some of emâ too, so... I was hoping they could find a better life away from all this madness.â
â oh, is that a challenge? â
QUESTION SENTENCE STARTERS.
âWell, if you wanna call it that, then sure!â
âFirst-a one through the course up ahead shall be the winner. Just, erm... no flying over all the platforms, to keep it fair.â Mario had some assumption that Geno was capable of floating indefinitely.
He had offered to train using the best of their abilities now that there was a little downtime from now until the next excursion. Mario wasnât the type of person to sit idle, always having something to do to keep himself active -- be it go-karting, tennis or the occasional party.
Genoâs renown as the Star Roadâs warrior didnât go over his head either, which is why the plumber offered such a challenge in the first place. Call it recklessness, but for him it was just a simple way to pass the time.
âSo, whaddaya say? Letâs-a play, Geno!â
â Where are you taking me? â
QUESTION SENTENCE STARTERS.
âA safe spot from Bowserâs goons, thatâs where.â Mario beckoned for her to follow along. It was all happening so quick and without much time to register, but there was one thing for sure: the current area was slowly becoming swarmed with Koopa Troopas and the usual ensemble of baddies.
âJust anywhere but-a here!â
