To anyone going to protests, please stay safe.
To anyone that can't go to protests, that's okay, it's not your fault.
To anyone that wants this to turn into a revolution, fuck you. It's not as good as you would think.
To anyone that supports cops, shut up. They kneeled on a man's neck for eight minutes even when he begged them to stop. ACAB.
To anyone who has lost someone to police brutality, I'm deeply sorry. The police department is a corrupt system and you should never have to fear for your life because of your skin colour.
To anyone who is watching the tanks go down your street, I'm so sorry. I know how that feels. It's horrible and terrifying.
To anyone going to protests and causing a ruckus so that the protests look bad, fuck you.
To cops, how can you do this to people? To your neighbor's? To the parents of your kid's friends? To kids?
To the protestors (again), water works better than milk, plywood is not a good shield, don't touch the brick piles, and don't let them silence you.
To the ones that want this to become a revolution (again), a revolution will hurt more than it will help. It'll destroy the lives of children, like it did to me. It will post likely lead to the government imposing martial law, which is worse. It will lead to protestors' families being threatened with death, as it did with mine.
To the government of the United States of America, you are ruining lives. You are ending lives. You are violating the very first amendment by denying people the ability to speak their mind. You are violating the fourth amendment, for arresting and searching people for simply "acting suspicious". You are yet to comply with the thirteenth amendment, the abolition of slavery. You are violating the twenty-sixth amendment by keeping people that are eighteen or older from voting.
To everyone, stay strong, stay safe, fuck cops.
I agree with this but i do have a few things to add on, if i may
To the people protesting, if you can, cover up. Tattoos, hair, piercings, skin as much as you can, anything that makes you, you, because they can use that to find you. If you can’t cover everything, light colored and thin hoodies and masks work as your arms are covered, and your mouth and facial structure is as well.
Leave as much as you can at home. People with bras, get a bra clip if you can to store money if you bring it. People who don’t? Either go with someone who does, hold what you need tight, or keep it with someone you 100% trust. Memorize as many things as you can-phone, social security number, anything. Bring your ID just in case. Walk as much as you can, and leave your phone at home. Or, if you want to bring it if you want to record, get one of those apps that clears a certain type of data (can’t remember the name but it starts with an M) and get rid of anything that can track your location. Don’t use websites that use cookies. Use incognito mode (hidden/private i believe it is called on phones and such) Oh! If you post a picture, take a screenshot first of it and hide the face to also clear that data and keep fellow protestors safe. Videos I believe should be fine but maybe screen record it first unless you go live? Not sure about this one.
If you do touch the bricks, let me give you some advice. Don’t use them as weapons. They are laid out like that as temptations. Don’t fall for it. If you can, wear gloves while doing this next part to stop finger prints. Make barricades or stack them like two vertical and one on top horizontal across the road randomly so the cops can’t drive their cars and they have to walk. Walking with those barricades is hard and will take them time so you have more time to get away or prepare yourselves.
If you cannot go to protests, remember you can still help! Sign petitions! A good area code if you don’t live in the US is 10001 which is NYC. Spread the word-but try to read through the notes if you can to find 1) the best thread with the most information and 2) to check that the information is valid. I personally cannot protest but I definitely try to spread information if I can!
And remember, this isn’t a trend or an aesthetic. This isn’t something people are blowing out of proportion. They tried peacefully protesting so many times. This time was way to far. This is the straw that broke the camels back.
If you can bring a small first aid kit, i would. Bring water, light snacks, hand sanitizer, gloves, band aids, gauze, antiseptic cream, bandages, advil, etc. Most can be found at a dollar store or someplace cheap where you can also find a carrying case.
Watch out for fake protesters. Cops have been hiding in plain sight using disguises. Anyone who says to jump a cop, trash a cop car, break and enter, loot, etc. is not to be 100% trusted. Check the feet and stance. Broad shoulders, tense, looking around a lot, fancy shoes, white armband, handcuffs in pockets? Careful-might be a cop. Especially the last ones.
Be careful what asks/messages you answer online as it could be used to find you. Cops regretfully have that kind of technology. And also, there have asks at least on Tumblr of people getting asks like “are you going to any riots” or things like that. Please, do not trust these!!!
And one last thing from me. Please, be safe out there.
Be smart, be safe, be one step ahead. Acab. Blm.
And if any of this information is incorrect, please-please!-do not hesitate to tell me. I got all this information from various sources and I would hate to spread more false information! Please, stay safe guys.
I am OP but this really needs to be added!!! Thank you @rationalmilksnake
