Sapphire [1989]
There is an endless list of reasons to adore Dusty Rhodes. None of them were lost on his friend Sapphire, who first appeared as a fan of Rhodes on Halloween in 1989. Eventually, Sapphire was introduced as an on-screen character, teaming with Dusty at WrestleMania VI in a tag team match against Randy Savage and Sensational Sherri. Sapphire picked up the victory for her team, with a little help from Miss Elizabeth, who had allied herself with Rhodes and Sapphire prior to the event.
The friendship between Sapphire and Rhodes lasted until SummerSlam, where it was revealed that “The Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase had purchased Sapphire’s company.
