Gonna summon my bb mutuals for this one - did brian need glasses? There's those photos from the mid 60s in which he sports them but seemingly it was fashion only? Did he need them at all in his life?

So this is what he said about his glasses in an interview at the time:

"I would recommend that everyone who gets eye strain when they read go to an optometrist and get reading glasses so that they can read more and longer. This is what I did, and I really do think everyone should do it." (link to facebook source)

But naturally he contradicted himself later when asked about them:

I do think he might have started using reading glasses earlier than he said though. I could swear I've seen a photo of him wearing them to read in the 1970s though I can't remember where, but regardless there was also the R&R Hall of Fame induction in 1988 when he put them on to read his speech (excuse to use the confused math lady Carl gif again lol):

But btw it's worth mentioning that maybe he didn't really count them back then since he could also get away with reading without them sometimes under whatever specific circumstances. That's an excuse to post this video, because I love his part in it (skip to 7:20):

Omg glad its not just me. I've been doing this for a while now and I also try to make time to really sit down and listen to an album all the way thru instead of putting it on while I'm out. Hiiii sorry for answering this 1 william years later

It was nothing crazy, I basically saw him live in 2022 and I was only a couple rows from the front. I was pretty close.

I actually made a bingo card for the gig and managed to achieve multiple bingos during the performance (I wish I could find it but I haven't seen it since I moved, it will be around somewhere lol)

I had seen so many live gigs and heard like 95% of all his solo albums at that point so I knew exactly what to expect.

I would love to see him again and possibly meet the poor fella, but I feel like if I told him my extended lore with his music he might be like ermmm, human resources!!
