Reigen’s whole involvement in the season 1 Claw arc is extremely funny on its own but I’ve decided it’s funniest of all from Teru’s POV.
This man shows up to the cell you’re being detained and Kageyama addresses him as master. Kageyama is already the person Teru holds in highest regard of anyone he’s ever met, and now that boy’s master has walked in the door.
What’s more, Kageyama’s master has entirely fooled the 7th Division of Claw into thinking he is Claw’s boss. Was this high level mind control? Or is Kageyama’s master just an unmatched genius?
This man then scolds Kageyama for using his powers against people (and that’s part of the philosophy that changed Teru’s life! Echoed right back at them.) But! The circumstances were dire! They NEEDED to fight to survive.
And Kageyama’s master seems to understand this. He apologizes to Mob. He then turns on the Claw upper echelon members and scolds them, and fells two of them without even using his powers, which is also in line with the philosophy even if the drop-kick seemed a little violent…
But unfortunately, they don’t listen to reason. They escalate with their psychic powers and the fight is ON.
Sure, Kageyama’s master keeps insisting the kids NOT fight, but Teru is pragmatic! Claw won’t listen! The kids need to fight! KAGEYAMA needs to fight!
But his master keeps refusing. He tells Kageyama to run away. And at that moment one of the Claw members slices Kageyama’s master in half.
And this is bad, this is bad, surely—except, wait. Kageyama’s master stands right back up. He’s fine. He’s more than fine—he’s ANNOYED.
And, one can only assume this is because the master has decided to get serious. Because without breaking a sweat. Without lifting a finger. Without even showing a hint of aggression, he disarms every single Claw terrorist.
And WHILE he’s doing this? He’s yelling at them to grow up! Get a job! Stop being delusional idiots!! One Claw member asks if the master is telling them to go back to being commoners and the master says “No you idiot, you’ve been commoners this entire time. I’M A COMMONER, and I’m more powerful than you, so fucking tell me what that makes you.”
And all the while he’s wielding godlike power like it’s nothing. And Teru is listening to the origin of Mob’s “Our powers don’t make us special. We’re all commoners actually.” philosophy that altered Teru’s life. Right from the source. The master I s yelling about it passionately while disarming elite terrorists with his pinky finger.
So OF COURSE, NATURALLY, this is the man worthy of being Kageyama’s master. Teru understands entirely! This genius of infinite power who could fell nations but instead lives humbly and respectfully as a common man, because even the most elite psychics are not better than anyone else.
I think Teru went home with a new idol crafted in his eyes and Reigen went home going “what the fuck was all that? Well anyway I don’t have Mob’s powers anymore so it doesn’t matter. Why can I see this ghost.”
so, you want to make a pokemon fangame? / pokemon fangame resources
its actually not that hard! its like modding your 3ds, it might look terrifying, but with how streamlined it is and how many tutorials there are, its pretty hard to fuck it up.
for this explanation, ill be talking about pokemon essentials, which doesnt even involve hands-on coding if youre not trying to do anything fancy. but there are other dev kits out there like PSDK or plain ol' rom hacking that im not as familiar with.
1 - Getting Started
in order to use pokemon essentials, youll need rpgmaker xp. its on sale constantly for as little as $2 USD or free, so if you dont feel like paying for the full $30, you dont have to.
pokemon essentials itself is a free download, and you can get it here.
now that you have essentials, unzip the folder in your location of choice (it might take a while) and click on the .rxproj file. this is where the fun begins.
essentials uses the rpgmaker event system, so you dont have to do any real coding in ruby (the coding language rpgmaker and essentials uses) if you dont want to. to get the game started, for example, you dont need to write a single line of real code. my games intro looks like this.
this may look intimidating if you dont know what youre looking at, but its actually pretty easy.
i could give you a tutorial on how to get started, but it wouldn't be as good as thundaga's tutorials. this is where i sort of set you free to go watch these videos, as any attempts to explain this via text would be lengthy and agonizing.
2 - helpful resources
this is the bulk of the post, where i give you resources on how to use essentials to its fullest capabilities.
2.1 - websites & programs
💫essentials wiki - the official pokemon essentials wiki, which contains basically all the info to know about it. if you have a question, its probably answered here.
💫eevee expo - a forum focusing on fangames with tons and tons of resources. here's a direct link to the resources page, which is mostly for essentials!
eevee expo discord - awesome for getting help with things you might not understand! pokecommunity also has one, but im more active here. say hi!
💫pokecommunity - a similar forum with more of a focus on rom hacks, but still tons of helpful essentials resources and posts are found here.
💫arcky's PBS editor - the worst part of essentials dev is editing the PBS files manually, and this makes it significantly easier.
deviantart - while using deviantart these days may be hopeless for 99% of endeavors, its a great resource for free to use sprites. try searching up "pokemon tilesets" and see what you find, for example!
random name generator - great for when youre stuck trying to think of names for the generic NPCs on routes.
pokemondb - a little more straightforward with stats than bulbapedia. good for when you need to review a pokemon's moveset.
💫the spriter's resource - official sprites of all kinds for every pokemon game, and all sorts of other games too!
smogon - dont know how to make a good moveset for a pokemon? check smogon and see what the pros are up to!
trainer customization resources - doing a gen 4 style game, but arent the best at art? try this!
aseprite - awesome for sprite art. but if push comes to shove, you can use plain ol' MS paint.
pokemon essentials gsc kit - for gen 2 style fangames!
2.2 - must-have plugins
💫gen 9 pack - moves, items, pokemon and graphics for up to gen 9!
💫gen 9 move animation project - essentials is missing quite a few move animations by default. this rectifies it.
overworld shadows - extremely helpful for gen 4-5 style games. also looks good with gen 3.
i encourage you to look through eevee expo/pokecommunity to find plugins that catch your eye! id go through all the ones i use, but we'd be here all day.
tl;dr, have fun, make the game youve always wanted!
I like the little moment where Callisto admits that his art is failing to even inspire his apprentice these days. Because you know what? I'm with her. Albina was quite clearly the superior artist.
Look at that thing. That's some mall ninja wall hanger bullshit. It's all spikes in a way that actively undermines its utility as a weapon. It's too focused on looking dangerous. It clashes woefully with his aesthetic and the fact it's made from his Corpus is not immediately apparent. He would have to explain it to you, at which point he should just give up. It's also over-emphasizing the skeleton to the point it's hard to tell the thing is still alive. It looks like bones with a bit of gristle attached, not the living weapon it should be.
Also, where's the eroticism to it? If you're making flesh into art there should be an erotic element. Like... swords are inherently phallic, and having a meat sword just hanging out there is downright gauche. It's like he's flashing you in the gallery and calling it art.
Now this? This is art. The first stage conceals her true nature hiding it behind a metal dress symbolizing torture. It's feminine and violent at the same time. Meanwhile her blade subverts the inherently phallic nature of a sword by having a metal curtain open to feed the meat within, turning the symbolism yonic and evoking vagina dentata. There's a mystery to the ensemble. What does she look like underneath?
And oh, when she removes it! The sword expands and we see just how compressed it was by those tight metal garments. It's free, letting it all hang out. This is a living, hungering thing. The bones only serve as a framework to give it shape. Her sterile, artificial body, nude but without sexual anatomy, immediately makes it apparent that the blade is her. She has sacrificed everything for this art, even giving it pieces of her brain so it has a will of its own. The effect is intensely erotic without being sexual in nature. This is her flesh she is baring to you, not her mere body.
In short: Callisto is a hack who never really had it, and Albina had serious potential in the murder-art world.
Do you guys remember when mob psycho, a story about kids with superpowers, stepped up to the mic and said that actually children don't have a responsibility or obligation to fight the battles of adults. Remember when self proclaimed psychic Reigen Arataka said that its actually ok to run away. In a show about kids with superpowers. Do you guys remember that
I was gonna add the flashes in the background on the redraw too (drawn ones this time HAHA) but I decided not to in the end. I like it better without them,,
whump is such a strange thing for me. ‘oh im having trouble shouldering the burdens of daily life, let me play scenes in my head of someone getting the shit kicked out of them (fictionally), that’ll make me feel better’ and it DOES
thank you mr. fox for ten glorious years of being attracted to butchy fish women. here's to another ten
[image description: a drawing of undyne from undertale smiling and giving a thumbs up. she is depicted as being quite muscular and having large, flowing hair. text around her says "i watched someone play undertale a decade ago at age 10 and all i got was a profound respect and love for video games as an artistic medium and lesbianism". the piece is done in a retro halftone style. end id]
Part of me is like “neat. Reblog,” and part of me is like “I understand now why impressionism took off, because there’s a 0% chance the artist wasn’t like ‘fuck this shit’ by the halfway point.”
