me putting a comma where it doesn’t belong: it’s sexy, it’s spicy, it adds a twist, a little color, a little interest
“Lemonade was not made for me, either. As a Singaporean Chinese woman, I would be lying if I said I was familiar with the complex, myriad ways Beyoncé explores black female personhood, sexuality, and spirituality in the film. But as a non-American, non-white woman, what I am familiar with is appreciating art that is not and will never be made with me in mind. This is a process that white people are now struggling with more publicly than ever. It seems to me that much of the pain in this process comes from entitlement, which often stems from ignorance. I wonder: Do white people in the Western world understand just how much of global popular culture is tailored to their tastes and their histories? Do white people in the Western world know that, for non-white people who wish to participate in and discuss global popular culture, being well-versed in white cultural and musical history is almost compulsory? Do white people in the Western world know how laughable it is that they feel excluded just because a popular work of art dares to be less culturally legible to them?”

the whole “anger is poisonous and bad for u” mindset was created by people who didn’t want to deal w the justified anger directed at them by others
anger is powerful and important, anger is fuel, and only you determine whether or not yr anger is good or bad for you
Anger is an important tool made for survival, and is what historically has allowed people to live and not take shit from nasty fucking people. Anger is your friend. Don’t forget it

One of the best things about GRRM’s writing is how much he can reveal in a single sentence. Take the line “Lyanna might have carried a sword, if my lord father had allowed it” and see how much we learn from that sentence:
1. Lyanna had an interest in swords
2. The interest was not aesthetic, but rather she wanted one for herself
3. Rickard Stark’s parenting style might be described as strict
4. Strict enough to where Lyanna couldn’t defy him and get away with it
5. There’s also an implication that he wanted to enforce traditional femininity on his daughter
6. The other implication that he didn’t care what his daughter wanted— which confirmed again by Ned when we learn that Lyanna didn’t want to marry Robert
And it’s this line that allows us to connect Lyanna to other popular theories, such as the Knight of the Laughing Tree’s identity, and who that boy and girl playing with sticks in the godswood were in Bran’s vision. It’s honestly incredible how much character GRRM can build in so few sentences and it’s an aspiration of mine that I can write similarly well.

bumblebees are going extinct and i think now is a time to let everyone know that pesticides aren’t the way to go. there are infact alternatives to pesticides that are cheaper and safer.
like caffeine! bees love the smell of caffeine, and it doesn’t hurt them. however every other dangerous bug is repulsed by the smell and wont eat your plants.
it’s that simple! it’s that fucking simple! all you have to do is get some coffee beans or whatever. put it in a cup. put some water in it. put it in a spray bottle. boom! that’s all!
please spread this around to anyone you know i refuse to let bumblebees go extinct
