Another harmless act, oh how Kakine grew tired of that here in Academy City, actually, he didn’t even know it was an act, he just assumed it as no one was to be trusted here when you’re a rank five Esper like him. Many people are after your head after all.

Oh boy, did this one have a mouth on him. His remarks (though rude) did remind her a bit of her friend Merc. That being said, Emerald just grew annoyed with her colleague and this boy was heading in the same direction. 

Emerald crossed her arms, her lips twitching into a scowl. “That part I can handle, it’s more like getting out of here. You could say I’m a traveler and need to get back home. I just can’t find the portal.”

What Emerald stood before looked to be a palace. A grand palace. The architecture is nothing that Emerald had ever seen in her homeland. A beautiful place to say the least, the girl stood there in awe. 

The area was quiet; too quiet for the thief's liking. There was barely any signs of life. This lead to the girl wondering, “why isn’t anybody here?”

She walked the area, making sure to be silent and stealthy. What she found suddenly answered her earlier musings. There was a dragon; a pretty large one too. This probably wasn’t a safe place with such a large creature around. 

Em had to get out of the area and she had to get out now. She didn’t want to get caught. Who knows what this beast is capable of.

Emerald had been to small towns and villages before, but this place was smaller compared to the rest. In her eyes, the area held nothing of importance. 

“How boring.” she breathed out a sigh of irritation. After her recent situation in Vale, Emerald had temporarily left the area. She needed to clear her mind and shake off the events that happened. The timing of those elegant beams were perfect. Now, Emerald had the chance to go visit as many foreign places as she wanted. 

Except, this small place wasn’t exactly what she expected. Hopefully, her remark wasn’t too loud.

Emerald hated being lost. What’s worse is that she was alone and lost. The girl could handle herself easily, that was no problem. What really irked her was how unfamiliar this place was. She definitely wasn’t in Vale, that’s for sure. 

Emerald hated asking for help, but this situation needed it. 

“Hi there.” the smile was innocent enough. Her hands were behind her back and her head was canted slightly to the side. Her whole posture and demeanor came out to look harmless. “I’m very lost and I was wondering if you could help me?”

“That’s…strange.”

Her eyes scanned the green haired girl over still taken aback by the reappearance. Weiss had decided to take a step out before the next match only to bump shoulders with someone who was thought to be hundreds of miles away. 

“I’m positive they mentioned you returning to Haven with your team…Emerald.”

No doubt this could all be a small misunderstanding or a game of bad telephone but after recent events the fencer found herself quite protective of her fiery teammates reputation. So forgive her for the slight salt in her tone.

Now this wasn’t supposed to happen. Emerald was tasked to just slip in and out of the arena after the events with Merc and Yang. Not a lot of people knew who she was so the task was simple to execute. Unfortunately, every mission had their obstacles. For Emerald, it was Weiss. 

It took a lot out of the girl not to roll her eyes or even come up with some remark. She was still undercover and even if she didn’t like Ruby and her tag-along friends, Emerald still had a facade to keep up.

“Weiss, hey!” She ignored the tone, choosing the better part of her to just act along like she always did. A smile on her face, eyes shining with false enthusiasm, “I was, but Merc kept complaining about how he was missing the tournament. His whining was pretty bad, so I stayed on behalf of the team.” It was decent excuse, for the most part. "Merc and Cinder were fine with it. I’m being updated with Merc anyways.”
