This photo is on my desk at home. I talked about it once on @peteholmes show. This is Robert Kennedy backstage at the 1964 Democratic Convention. Literally sitting on the steps because LBJ wanted to make him as uncomfortable as possible. His older brother, the President, had been killed a few months before. Now a narcissistic bully was in his place, terrified Robert Kennedy would steal his thunder. Robert Kennedy was as emotionally and politically disillusioned as a person could be. He went up and gave his speech. Before he could begin he got a 19 minute standing ovation. Its on youtube. Its absolutely indescribable. And he went on to do more in the next four years before his death than most people do in a lifetime. You get back up and keep going.
