Whole-heartedly BEGGING writers to unlearn everything schools taught you about how long a paragraph is. If theres a new subject, INCLUDING ACTIONS, theres a new paragraph. A paragraph can be a single word too btw stop making things unreadable

Ok So I’m getting more notes than I thought quicker than I expected! So I’m gonna elaborate bc I want to. 

I get it, when you’re someone who writes a lot and talks a lot, it’s hard to keep things readable, but it’s not as much about cutting out the fat(that can be a problem) so much as a formatting issue. 

You are also actively NERFING yourself by not formatting it correctly, it can make impactful scenes feel so, so much better. Compare this, 

To THIS. 

Easier to read, and hits harder. 

No more over-saturated paragraphs. Space things out.

Is there any centipede/ millipede or similar with wings?( I recently found out that some earwigs in other parts of the world have wings, and the mind wonders.)

As far as I know, there are no earwig species that don't have wings. They have hardened forewings that are like the elytra (shell) on beetles, and under those are the hindwings, which are used for flight. Most rarely fly, though, and some are incapable, so we don't really ever see them.

Millipedes and centipedes on the other hand are from a group of arthropods (myriapods) that have never had wings. So, sadly, no millipede or centipede wings to admire!

the closest thing I can think of is the centipede genus Alipes (meaning “wing-footed”). their terminal legs are flattened into huge feather shapes!

they don’t fly though, or use the legs for any sort of locomotion. Alipes terminals have a little notch at the joint that makes a hissing sound when flexed, and combined with the motion and size of them, make the terminal legs an target for both visual and auditory predators. however, the centipede easily detaches these legs (which keep hissing) like a lizard’s tail, flees to safety, and can regrow them later.

(p.s. there are quite a few wingless earwigs! most of these are burrowers like my Anisolabis, and the ectoparisitic/bat commensal guys are also wingless)
