Uh oh, here we go~

Okay, Iām not really amazingly active on tumblr anymore, but I am still posting my STC AU fancomic over on my other account! Itās just reached Issue 2!

(Well, as soon as I can build a decent buffer of pages anywayā¦)
So this is another attempt by me at starting a fan comic! Itās an AU based mostly on Sonic the Comic (Fleetway) with a large helping of headcanon! While I canāt promise amazingly regular updates, Iām hoping to get this thing going properly this time!

sonic having to go out in disguises in public so he doesnāt get hounded by fans.
christmas island becoming a huge touristy place because sonic was born there and (likely) lived his childhood there.
sonic getting hired to guest star in movies and TV shows.Ā
his friends gaining popularity due to affiliation with him.
and, this is a little angsty, but sonic getting stressed about having to be perfect, due to so many people holding him on a high pedestal because of his heroism and popularity, as well as a lot of other cons that come with being a celebrity, like lack of privacy and public smearing in news and journalism.
i think stuff like addressing sonicās popularity and situations that come with it could help develop his character in quite a few facets

There IS a Sonic continuity that addresses some of these things! Sonic the Comic (Fleetway to a lot of you I guess) touched on Sonic's popularity and its effects a fair bit! His fame was more or less a constant background hum. And I think (I mean, pretty much speculation here but) a large part of why that Sonic is such an utter git- see the angsty point in the original post.
Hereās a few examples I can remember off the top of my head...
Sonic makes a half decent penguin. Admittedly the disguises were more to stop Robotnik finding Sonic & friends but Iām sure they helped with unwanted hounding as well...

Now, Pillowfort will not always require a payment to sign up; we are doing this because we are still in the process of implementing our subscription plan, which will be our source of long-term revenue, and these payments through PayPal give us funding to make sure we can pay all our server expenses, employee compensation, etc. while we are still working on implementing our business plan. Once we exit beta you will be able to join the site and use all of its essential features for free, with the option to pay for some extra goodies similar to what LiveJournal and DreamWidth offer in their subscription plans.

Important Announcement
In light of Tumblrās recent policy changes, I donāt think this is a viable place to post my art any longer.
While I donāt create adult content myself, the Tumblr algorithm has already been flagging my art as sensitive despite it being sfw and I can only see this continuing- this along with other issues with links and blocked tags lately is making it increasingly difficult to get my art out there.
My art will be moving to twitter.com/teapoweredart from this point forward! Iām really sorry to do this to you guys, and thank you all so much for following. I hope Iāll see some of you on Twitter!
This blog will remain as an archive, but since everything new I post is getting flagged it is very unlikely that Iāll be sharing new art here in future.

I love seeing all these faux-NES retro mockups that have 8-bit graphics but are otherwise meticulously true to the source material, when we all know that the real contemporary NES adaptation would have involved the characters jumping around a derelict industrial park throwing stuff at robots. Doesnāt matter what the source material in question is ā it could be freaking Waiting for Godot, and itād be Industrial desolation and chucking crap at alien cyborgs.

As a society, we need to stop assuming that everyone enjoys drinking alcohol.
Lmao @ people who think Iām ridiculous for this post. Iām defensive because alcoholism is a huge issue. Everywhere in the world. Not to mention, I know itās hard for some of you fucks to believe because of how widely accepted alcohol is, but there are a HUGE amount of people who have personal issues with alcohol. Either being recovering or previous alcoholics themselves, having a close personal tie with someone who abused alcohol, growing up in an unstable alcoholic household, having DEEPLY EMBEDDED family or spouse issues ALL because of alcohol. FUCK OFF with your me being so offended bullshit. Just assume people are sober till you find out on **their** terms they arenāt. Donāt expect that everyone likes to drink. Just like you wouldnāt expect that everyone likes to smoke cannabis, why would you do it with alcohol? (Thatās rhetorical, itās obviously because basically everyone assumes the entire world enjoys drinking). Itās not hard. Donāt offer people drinks unless you know they drink. BYE.
My favorite response when I tell people im straight edge is āwhat? Youāll never drink ever? Not one drink? I donāt believe you.ā And theyāll laugh And Iāll look them straight in their fucking eye and tell them both my parents, and my aunt are recovering alcoholics. The rest of my family? Has never tried, nor ever got the chance to recover from their addiction. Itās by some miracle my mother is alive right now because she drank so much her liver stopped working. She was in a coma for two weeks. The doctors almost gave up on her. My dad was an abusive drunk and then turned to hard drugs and that certainly didnāt help anything. My 3 younger sisters and I were almost put into foster care because of the both of them. I was only about 14 at the time. Making my youngest sister, 7. And because of all of this my family went bankrupt and we were almost homeless. All because of drinking :)
That usually shuts them up real fucking fast but, I shouldnāt have to explain that to anyone. I shouldnāt have to defend my (perfectly healthy!) choices!
If someone tells you they donāt drink, itās for a fucking reason. Donāt be a dick. Casual alcoholism is a huge fucking problem in the world and its scary that most people canāt see it.
Also, some people justā¦ donāt like drinking. There are people out there who just genuinely do not enjoy drinking alcohol. They donāt like the taste, they donāt like being impaired, and they have no desire to try to force themselves into enjoying it just because someone else thinks itās āweirdā.
There are all kinds of reasons that someone might not choose to drink, and all of those reasons are valid. Thereās nothing wrong with it, it doesnāt mean theyĀ ācanāt have funā, and I guarantee you theyāre not judging you for drinking. And if they are? Itās definitely not as much as theyāre being judged for not drinking.
Donāt try to force people to drink. Donāt assume everyone likes to drink. And if someone says they donāt drink? Donāt force them to explain why just to get you to stop hounding them.
There are plenty of reasons to avoid booze and the particulars of someoneās reasons are none of your business. Nobody deserves to catch crap because they donāt imbibe.
