he did that on purpose. bonus bonus:
did i tell you guys i failed at being sexually harassed at work today?
okay so, guy at work, who i find out afterwards is famous at this place for being a sex pest, comes up and starts with what i also learn is his favorite opener to conversations where he’s going to be a sex pest, namely: “Do you know where the term ‘blow job’ comes from?”
and here he made his first fatal error. his moment of hubristic sex pesting. because of course i know where the term blow job comes from, i love learning about sex and the history of sexual terms! i know so much about oral sex that i could write a book on it!

Cassie after explaining to Kon that she and Tim dated while he was dead: -and we had both lost so many people, we'd both lost you, and it felt like we were the only ones who really got each other, and it's... it's Tim, and I just.... anyway, we're not together anymore. we weren't really in the right mental space to be together in the first place, and some stuff happened and... well, I mean, now that you're back and we're back together... I just wanted you to know.
Kon, internally screaming at the realization that he Cassie and Tim could all be dating TOGETHER and gripping his own thighs so tightly he's starting to draw blood as he tries to keep calm: mm-hm, mm-hm! cool cool cool so hypothetically speaking-
I just saw an anon come into a gif-maker’s ask box and start with the phrase: “I’m trying not to spam your inbox with reblogs, but” and then go on to say how much they love the gifs.
But I’m still stuck on that opening phrase because…what? I am so confused by how people view interactions on tumblr & AO3 these days. Let me make it very clear for anyone who is unsure:
CREATORS WANT YOU TO INTERACT WITH THEIR WORK.
The limit does not exist on how many of their works you can interact with in a certain period.
If you like every fic they’ve ever written? Then feel free to give them all kudos and even leave a comment on every single one if you feel inclined! If you’re going through someone’s blog and you vibe with every post, like/reblog to your heart’s content!
As long as you’re not expecting something back from them or adding a ton of irrelevant comments, it’s not spam! It’s what this is all about!! I’m not even much of a creator and I still feel a huge sense of pride when I see a ton of notifications in a row from a person, as it clearly shows they thought my blog was worth spending time on.
And if for some reason a creator is annoyed by this (unlikely), they can manage their own experience (turn off notifs, not look at their notes, delete the fic, etc) -- so don’t deprive the majority of creators because of some imagined annoyed person. Fandom is a collaborative effort and we all must participate!
there is a particular feeling that comes from getting an Ao3 notification that someone has kudos marked almost an entire series. I mean, seven fics - in one day because Ao3 only sends the kudos email once a day - one person just reading fic after fic because they enjoyed your writing so much.
so you know who you are that does that. the authors/artists/creators see that. and they appreciate it.

Project aims to address critical drinking water shortage within Hard Rock community where nearly 10,000 families across Navajo Nation lack a
Excerpt:
The Watergen GEN-M generators produce up to 211 gallons (800 liters) of purified drinking water per day, depending on climate conditions. The Israeli startup will monitor the project’s effectiveness in the Hard Rock Community and evaluate whether it can be replicated elsewhere within the Navajo Nation. “We live in a region in which drinking water sources have been compromised by coal mining. Any way to mitigate the need for water while the aquifers recover is critical,” said Nicole Horseherder, Executive Director of Tó Nizhóní Ání, a local environmental group, which is one of the partners in the initiative.
This is very cool! I'd heard of this developing tech a little while ago but not how successful it was and how many places they've set up machines in. I really hope it goes well!
If youre a closeted person somewhere out there thinking "I want to transition but it would be less progressive/unique/countercultural for me to be that gender instead of this one" please know that you are a real person not a character in a narrative and cant live your life based on what is good media representation. You are real you can only be yourself and theres no moral weight to any identity over another
Liberal transphobes enjoy positioning trans identities as regressive compared to cis queerness or like non-transitioning transness or anything else they can leverage to make transphobia look progressive and I think its easy to absorb that message subconciously. But in real life we just are what we are and no ranking of validity can change the fact that you have an identity that is NOT chosen and is just your unchangeable truth. Not only should you not have to live a life dictated by what is most countercultural to identify as or whatever but also: being trans is extremely countercultural and feminist and leftist to begin with and theyre only trying to convince you otherwise bc theyre bigots
"Why cant you be a feminine man society hates feminine men 🥺" and "all the butch lesbians are becoming men we need u 🥺" = stay in the closet for the noble purpose of being an abstract representation point in my new york times opinion column. You wont actually be a gnc cis person youll be a closeted trans person who uses the wrong words but I need you to do that because i hate you

in happier pride news i actually found this deeply heartwarming
that's solidarity baybeeee
Further context: Durham city council (Reform UK) cut funding and support for Pride. The Durham Miner's Association and other trade unions raised enough money for Durham Pride 2026 to go ahead - a direct call back to when Lesbian and Gays Support the Miners (LGSM) raised money for mining communities when Margaret Thatcher seized union funding during the miner strikes of 1984-85.
At the 1985 Labour party meet, the motion to support LGBT rights as a party was passed due to a block vote from mining unions.
Stephen Guy, the chair of the Durham Miners’ Association, said that when it became apparent Durham Pride was under threat, he took it upon himself to “encourage the trade union movement to step up and do the right thing, and stand shoulder to shoulder with the LGBT+ community […] They not only raised funds for us, but came to our communities, uplifted our spirits when they were down, and showed their solidarity.”
A sort of pro "fanon stalker" Tim argument -
It's one of those things people like to say is purely fanon- Tim sneaking out of boarding school/home at night to follow Robin and Batman around, taking photos.
The argument being that #1- we only see Tim do it the night that he takes photos of Bruce to show Dick, and #2- "his photos are all newspaper clippings".
However...
Firstly, Tim had to know how to follow him before that night. Tim had to know where he would be, to at least some degree. Gotham is three large islands. Drake Manor AND Tim's boarding school are not in Gotham Proper.
Then,
There certainly are mostly newspaper clippings. HOWEVER, we can clearly see that there are actual photographs laying in the mix on the table in the album. Tim is also either at home, or in his dorm on this page. We don't get to know which. We don't know if at his dorms he has a private room or has a roommate. My guess is either private room or at home.
BUT, the photos in frames on the dresser, as well as the Flying Grayson photo op pic in his hand are in HIS dwelling space. He's not yet at Dick's apartment.
He has a photograph of older Dickbin with Batman on the left, and Jaybin with Batman on the right. They are a standard 8x10, which points to them be developed photographs rather than newspaper clippings.
Later Tim DOES break into Dick's apartment, after spooking Kori at her apartment (both of which he knows the locations of), and he does rummage through Dick's things trying to figure out where he's gone. However, the circus photograph shown is either him mentally picturing it from earlier, or Dick's copy (the prior more likely than the later). I think that's where people have gotten mixed up, thinking the dresser photos were in Dick's apartment.
So...
- We may only have one instance of Tim's following Batman on-page, but his ability to follow him/find him/keep tabs on him at all point toward it not being the first time.
- The photographs on the dresser and in the photo album point towards him having taken those photos. It was 1989, he would have had to have developed those photos himself, it's unlikely he could have gotten them otherwise.
- Jack and Janet Drake went on archeology digs. There's a decent chance that they had this equipment in their house. Including the camera Tim is seen using. It's not like he would have had to purchase the equipment himself when there's a valid reason for it to exist already.
- The photographs and newspaper clippings showing both Robins points towards an extended amount of time having obsessed over Dick, Bruce, and Jason as well as having gone out taking photos of them. We know he found out when he was 9, and we can see it wasn't just a passive hobby. The amount of time passing gets wonky, but Tim's thirteen. Dick is 8 years older than him, and stopped being Robin at eighteen, and Jason was in the Robin suit 18 months later. So it's been 3, almost 4 years since Dick was Robin.
- He knows how much Batman has changed. Enough that he concocted this plan of his. Which means he's been watching. Regarding the newspapers, he says "even THEY have noticed him acting different". Meaning it wasn't the newspapers that told Tim to begin with, he's noted that they realized "too".
I of course don't think Tim did this nightly or anything like that as fandom likes to imply. He couldn't possibly be missing from his dorm or home that often without someone noticing and him getting caught. But I think it was enough to get a decent amount of photos over the years, and that he did enough foot work and research via news/police scanner/in person lurking that he was able to determine some degree of patrol patterns.
He wasn't exactly normal by any means when he was introduced. Something that Dick, Alfred, and Bruce all realized quite quickly. He was obsessed. Calculating. He made himself into precisely what Bruce needed, even at his own expense. He frequently hallucinates in the beginning. Talks at- and even talks to Jason's memorial case, like he's talking to a religious shrine.
Fanon always comes from somewhere. It just very often gets blown very out of proportion.
My point of all this is, I'm rather sure these things all happened to some degree, we just won't even know to what extent (especially with present day canon now in play) and that you can't just say it's all fanon and never happened, because there are things that say otherwise.
Basically, we're probably looking at the mid ground.
So while doing some pirate research for the play I’m writing I stumbled upon one of the most amazing things I’ve ever read. In the 5th century A.D. there was a Scandinavian princess called Alwilda who’s father tried to set her up to marry Alf, the Prince of Denmark. Alwilda wasn’t cool with this so she and some female companions dressed as men, stole a ship, and sailed away. Eventually they met a company of pirates who were in need of a new captain and they were so captivated by her that they elected her as their new leader. Her crew became so infamous that Prince Alf was sent out to stop them. When their ships met he took Alwilda prisoner and she was so impressed by Alf’s skill that she agreed to marry him after all and eventually became the Queen of Denmark.
I stopped caring whether this was factually accurate about halfway through because it’s completely AWESOME.
Medievalist here for triumphant fact-checking: this story is, if not true, at least true according to the history of the Danes (Gesta Danorum) written in the 12th century by Saxo Grammaticus. You can read his account of Alwilda’s story in the original Latin here, or in English translation here. Highlights include:
She exchanged woman’s for man’s attire, and, no longer the most modest of maidens, began the life of a warlike rover. Enrolling in her service many maidens who were of the same mind, she happened to come to a spot where a band of rovers were lamenting the death of their captain, who had been lost in war; they made her their rover captain.
I love the implication that there were lots of Danish maidens just WAITING for the opportunity of a life of piracy…
