It wasnât as if Sunan planned to destroy a party, but sometimes, it just happened. They couldnât be held accountable because certain members of certain groups were driving him mental. Really, they had practically earned sainthood at this point. Normally, someone would have ended up crying or bleeding.
How great was our last comeback? Oh donât you think we should have gotten that endorsement instead of them? Iâm more talented than her, right?
They had spent the last hour listening to the girl bitch and moan. Even champagne flute after champagne flute couldnât help. He had never drank the stuff before joining the industry, but he had to say, the rich sometimes did it right. It was fucking smooth. Still, he really wished he had something stronger.
They hadnât even wanted to come to this party. It was black tie and he had been forced into a monkey suit by certain friends who insisted on dressing him. They had garnered a lot of attention thanks to the outfit, which was usually amusing, but they had been in a bad mood all day. Today, the people shooting for someone way out of their league was just annoying. He had waved them off while attempting to keep a levelheaded smile. Isaiah did not punch people at fancy parties.Â
Finally, he chugged the champagne and turned to his companion. His partner in crime. And a person guaranteed to make this evening a bit more lively.
âSo⊠how do you feel about ruining a b-list idolâs night?â They gestured at the offending party. âI mean, look at what sheâs wearing.â
Mingxia loved black tie occasions. It wasnât like she needed an excuse to dress up, but not having groups of people call her pretentious and snobby for wearing what she liked was a boon. Her ever-growing collection of couture evening gowns needed to be shown off, especially if it was one she had bought herself. The fashion landscape was everchanging and it was important to her to promote designers that she liked.
Todayâs gown was one for Luisa Beccariaâs fall 2021 couture collection. Itâs summery Mediterranean vibes had caught her attention immediately amongst the drab stuff that looked fit to give her a heatstroke if worn indoors. The colours was still muted enough that it didnât look out of place, like a last ode to the jovial landscape before the reds and yellows of fall took over. She owned two dresses from the small collection, and had chosen the strapless, muted turquoise-green one for tonight.
The understated, delicate pink embroidery and shawl-like side sleeves made it dazzling without looking like a disco ball. Not that she was against that type of look, but it was more a winter type of style. Still, she couldnât resist some sparkles and had thus paired the dress with a few white gold pieces from Bvlgariâs Fiorever collection. White gold and diamonds was a more winter vibe, but she hadnât managed to find something with stones that matched the dresses well enough. Also the current trend seemed to be pendant necklaces, which was just not something she wore for occasions like this.
Like many black tie events however, this party was turning out to be horrendous due to some of the guests. Mingxia was not one to dwell on how some people managed to get invitations - that just wasnât her problem. She didnât recognize most of the other idols invited usually. Sometimes their group names ringed vague bells. The one here tonight - or at least one member - had probably promoted at the same time as f.all recently. She never really bothered to keep up with other groups otherwise.
Hiding a fox-like smile by taking a sip of her champagne, she gave a quiet hum of approval as Sunan voiced their suggestion. âSounds like a marvelous idea. And donât get me started - bright green, in fall? It must be her first time wearing an evening gown.â
