I just finished The Ark and I’m lowkey sad it’s not more popular because I NEED someone to talk about this show with me. (Also I just really loved Sharon and Spencer together.)

Okay I’m still super sharcer-pilled and it’s been like two months since I finished the show—

What’s with this barely-existent, now-extinct ship that has me in such a hold??? I wish they’d kept Spencer alive because yeah i loved him but I also really loved his and Sharon’s budding/growing friendship and how she’s truly his rock to lean on when he gets in his emotions, and he’s become her biggest admirer/supporter. They started off as somewhat rivals, with him being so unlikable and against her in charge, but I’m so certain, had they kept him alive, that he’d be the first to say he was going back to space with her at the end of season 2. He’d follow her to the ends of the universe.

He was definitely falling for her, the way he smiled pretty much exclusively at only her, and how defensive he got with Brice’s teasing about his and Sharon’s reunion hug. And not to mention how he was hinting to her that they both didn’t have matches in the Juno Project???

And she liked him too. Her smile when he called her back to share that drink, plus her saying “it should have been you [in the coma dream with me]”!! She’s just really bad at feelings.

I think them slowly falling in love and eventually becoming a couple could have been sooo cute to witness, especially after watching them become loyal partners with their initial relationship rooted in trust and friendship. Like listen, for example, I love Brice and Eva together so much too but there’s something really sweet about a relationship where the couple is more subtle with their affection for one another but it’s still very much there and just as strong. I think that’s what they could have done with S&S.

And there’s the whole clone situation that they could have touched upon too. I’m so curious as to what the reaction from the others would have been, learning two clones were together. I think their closest friends would be delighted, and assholes like Trust would freak out about it.

I’m also wondering if they’ll develop the Sharon and Ian relationship, and I’m not against it, yet for all the reasons listed above I would have loved to see Sharon and Spencer end up a canon couple.

If Tyler thought the food Wednesday ate before she was pregnant was weird, now she craves really weird, offputting stuff. He will, of course, go to the ends of the earth to get whatever she wants, no matter how gross.

Leave it to them to not find out they were expecting the way most people do. Wednesday found out via a psychic vision of their child when she touched her abdomen in the shower. Tyler, thanks to his hyde ability of sensing outcasts, could sense the baby’s presence.

Wednesday wasn’t worried about the baby being a human-hyde like her husband; what she was secretly worried about is that she won’t be a good mother since she doesn’t think she’s maternal at all.

Wednesday entertains Tyler’s happy tears after their baby’s born for about 10 minutes. Then she tells him to get it together (because watching him is making her feel things.)

Everyone just assumed the kid would be like Wednesday, but their daughter actually ends up more like Tyler. She’s bright and bubbly and, to Wednesday’s dismay, loves colorful things. (Wednesday’s a good mom, though, and simply resorts to wearing a pair of black gloves because she has to touch her daughter’s colorful clothes and toys often.)

She’s not nothing like Wednesday though. She inherited the Frump women’s lineage of psychic abilities, loves haunted houses/spooky things, shares Wednesday’s taste in food, and has a talent for learning gruesome ways to end someone’s life (which her mother taught her early on.)

Their daughter has her dad’s hair but she wears it in two braids like Wednesday. She loves it when both her parents do her hair, even if her mom is admittedly much better at it than her dad.

Their next daughter is much more like Wednesday, though she does inherit her father’s barista skills.

Post-war, Haymitch has called Effie princess in public enough times in district 12 that the people now jokingly/fondly refer to her as “Abernathy’s princess” to one another.

Piggybacking off my post about Haymitch using Effie’s shampoo, she knows he has natural curls from being around him during his Games. She is now determined to have him get them back via using the right hair products. Haymitch moans and groans about it but for Effie he eventually says okay. She gets said products from the capitol. His hair goes from limp and wavy to curly, and Effie’s smile when she runs her hands through them — “yay!! they’re back!” — makes the effort worth it.

Haymitch has definitely tried Effie’s shampoo and shower gel. At first it was out of pure curiosity, but then he found himself fully, unironically enjoying them. When Effie found out, she couldn’t even be mad about it. Now, when Katniss and Peeta found out? Oh they never let him hear the end of it.

Also, despite having three closet’s-worth of clothes, Effie wears Haymitch’s clothes all the time. Prefers them to her own when they’re at home. They’re comfy and smell like him, like home. Katniss and Peeta slowly start to get used to seeing her in his flannels and sweaters that hang off her like oversized dresses.

After the war, when District 12 is slowly rebuilding itself, it’s Clerk Carmine who is the first person in the district to recognize Haymitch’s crush on Effie. He’s already seen Haymitch in love before, years ago. Those same lovestruck glances and soft shy smiles on his face, once upon a time, have made their way home again, and he tells him, with all sincerity, that he’s glad he’s found happiness and love once more in a world that never wanted him to have either.
