If Tony could, he’d have gotten rid of Stark Industries. He doesn’t want it, or to have the withstanding legacy of death and destruction it caused. He doesn’t want to keep holding up something his father built, or to have to wonder what his parents would think, if they were still around.

That being said, it’s all he has left of his parents, really. Their name. Their wealth. Their imprint on his life. All of it is represented in the company. To kill it would be like killing his parents’ lives, and he can’t do that. Not again.

To give Pepper the company was the ultimate display of trust. Tony didn’t give away his things easily. He’d seen what it could do in the wrong hands.

But Pepper’s hands have always been perfect to take care of the worst parts of Tony. She did such quirk work of cleaning it up and putting it on display as if it meant something. Even when he didn’t ask. Especially when he didn’t ask.

God, did he love her.

isn’t it crazy that tony fell in love with the person that he knew for a fact would rather he be boring and alive than heroic and dead? Loving Pepper Potts was Tony Starks most prominent and open act of self preservation. He outsourced his will to live. And she was (eventually) willing to be that for him, to help him decide what causes ARE worth dying for.

it genuinely pains me to think abt the difference in treatment TOP went through and that rapist did all TOP did was some weed, he didn't hurt anyone but himself and tortured himself abt it for such a long time it took 10 years for him to come back with music while that rapist (+ his freinds) dodged his sentence and criminal record and it seemingly made less noise??? I hate how unfair the world is to good people and especially victims
