Jujutsu Kaisen Observation #Who The Fork Knows
CHOSOOOO BABYYYYYY NOT YOUR BROTHERS!!!!!!!! *wailing screaming sobbing on the floor*
okay but what really stuck out to me with this scene is how emotionless inflectionless and unmoved he appears to be as well as how stoic he is in general we see him behaving around the curses and for these first parts of his incarnated life.
he barely does anything. just say. both my brothers just died. he wasnt calm no but he didnt have any exceptional outburst. he broke a game piece; its hardly irreplacable.
which makes what we see of him later SO much more poignant. once he gets around yuuji and the sorcerers, once he starts acting out of love and defiance and not according to his fears, he becomes so much more lively. hes fiercer and more vibrant- he laughs he teases he messes around. not a whole bunch but hey its a huge development especially from the pale lump he was at first.
and ESPECIALLY when he gets around Yuki and finally allows himself to mourn and regret- he UGLY CRIES guys. MY BABY. TT (*weeping echoes in the background*)
i just think its a very powerful contrast and underlines even MORE what we and yuuji lost when choso died. like, at that point, he really was yuuji's fully realized older brother, not just the random weirdo who once attached himself to yuuji like a barnacle (why are there so many? why?). yuuji cared about him.
and you know what? of so many people, choso was one of the ONLY ones who truly genuinely just LOVED yuuji so much and put him first. nothing was about him fighting or being a vessel or a weapon or anything.
it was just 'yuuji wants to fight? okay we're fighting.' 'yuuji wants to exorcise curses? okay we're exorcising curses.' 'yuuji's in danger? better protect him.' 'i can keep yuuji alive by sacrificing myself? no hesitation.'
i just. i love my bean so much. so so SO much. everyone else had plans and hopes for him, even gojo at times. all choso ever wanted for him was that he live and be happy. in this way, i think he and megumi are probably the two characters who show him some of the truest love throughout the series (sorry my goyuu loving heart im sorryyyyyy) (megumi was also using yuuji as proof of his own ideals too a little bit but literally his ideals are 'i follow my gut and save who i WANT to. i WANT this guy to live. 'nuff said. like thats it. so like. i think he gets a pass.)
anyway. choso is beautiful and lovely and he worked and tried so hard and he deserved better. *sniffles and blows me nose* thats it.
"you were out there and you werent looking for me?" WAAAAAAHHHHHGH UGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH AHAHDHHFJFKJKKJJJJJJ AAAAAAAAAAAAHGGHHHHH
