Late stage capitalism is so annoying because every app at this point has "premium" and its just things that make the app more functional and less annoying to use.
Want less ads that we're being paid to show you? Give us MORE money to stop seeing them. Do you want to see lyrics to songs? Too bad, they're locked behind premium. You want to be able to use a lengthy amount of words to write? Premium
And its not even like they deserve the money from you, the apps end up being shitty anyway. Even low quality phone games make you pay for them after a certain point of playing.
Its insane how far subscription culture has come. I see them everywhere. Back when newspapers were the popular form of communication (I know I sound old, but I'm not even 21 and I used to be a paperboy) you could have ads in newspapers and it would be fine. And I wouldn't mind them now if they weren't shoved in your face everywhere.
My mother has to take 20 minutes to find a recipe website that won't paywall her for wanting to cook dinner.
I can't watch youtube on my tv without getting 5 unskippable ads in a row.
Its genuinely insane. And we're being forced to get used to it because its been this bad for the past 10 years. Big corporations only do this because we allow them to. It could go away if enough people complained to them, but you can't even get people to agree with eachother half the time.
I'm tired.

I hate that as a person with bpd, my triggers are being treated like a bad person and criticism. Like that makes me look so fucking shitty. Nobody ever sees my post but hot take. If you're gonna make criticisms about how the Duffer Brothers wrote Stranger Things and / or the finale, please make sure you watch the show. Half of the criticisms include "what happened to Suzie?" "Why isn't Dustin dating Suzie anymore?" "Why didn't we see Suzie in the finale?"
Dustin and Suzie broke up. It is clearly stated in season 4 when the byler children + Argyle go to her house and she has her computer taken away by her dad because Dustin is agnostic and she messed with his grades. They are broken up. They have been broken up. Long distance relationships in the 80s didn't last long, and Dustin was also trying to save the world 5 billion times, he was too busy to maintain a relationship with someone outside of Hawkins.
Anyway all criticisms are valid, but they're not a plot hole, it's been addressed and we need to stop including it. My boy is more than his little girlfriend he had for maybe a year
