Dean pulls Sam up and wraps his arms around him.

“I wanna do this right. I don’t wanna rush this. I want this to be perfect for you. I want you to...I want you to be so loved, Sam...you deserve so much love…” but he pauses in the middle of his sentence.

“Dean?” Sam tilts his head (like the puppy dog he is, thinks Dean), and Dean holds up a finger.

“Wait,” he says, and scrambles to get his walkman. He returns quickly, his legs folding under him as he flops back on the bed. He listens for a moment, fastforwarding a few times until he finds the right spot. He cranks up the volume on the headphones so they can both hear it, and pushes play.

 Wild Horses plays through the small speakers and Sam grins.

“Yeah?” Sam says timidly.

“Yeah,” Dean says. His one word declaration is bold.
