Hot Chocolate 15K and the Austin Half are both coming up soon so I really need to start upping my mileage.
All day I was thinking about running around the park after work. I wondered if I would get my run in before the forecast rain and snow arrived. I wondered if the blossom trees were in bloom yet and I wondered if the Daffodil beds had survived the sprinkling of snow we had last week. At 3.30 I packed up my desk, got changed and headed off out the door. There was a cold wind blowing but it did not take long to warm up. There were plenty of runners out running under the blossom trees today. I could have run faster but I just had to stop and take pictures. I am a big spring fan! As I ran back to the office I realised I still had plenty of time before Hubby collected me so I ran through the gardens where I paused for my photo taking. I still had time once I had run through the gardens so I headed over a bridge and ran back to the office the long way and rounded out the 10km by running around the block several times. It was a good run. My grumpy old knee was happy today once it had warmed up and my weird pain in the butt was not a problem. When I got back to the office I did some stretches while I watched out the window for Hubby. Once home the rain arrived with gusto I wonder if we will get more snow.
10km - Colomos Run.
It's not for me, it's for the world #ironic
Ran my first 10km race at the weekend:Athens gold hill 10km is an infamous local race up and down very long steep hills and cobbled streets which proved to e very slippery in the pouring rain, even though I broke my toe the day before and the course was flooded over knee height in 3 sections,I still managed a decent time of 58 mins 🏃🏼♀️ not bad considering.
Sadly, the halfmarathon I was planning on running at the beginning of April got cancelled as well as practice and all the gyms are closed.
But as long as I’m allowed to leave my house, I can run as long as I want to! 😇
I ran my fastet 10k today and since practice is cancelled, I’ll probably do some intervalls tomorrow and sprints on Thursday.
Wohoo, I did my first official Run this year. The BER Airport Night Run 10km in 1 hour, 1 Minute and 41 seconds.
Last year I needed more than 1 hour and five minutes, so I was better than last year even though I started my training two weeks ago.
Dunno if there will be a BER run next year, depends on if they ever gonna finish this airport. It's like a never ending story like the Brexit. Who knows.
Next run is: The Wings For Life Run at the Baltic Sea on the isle Usedom as selfie Runner. Maybe I can run away from catching car far and long enough to run also 10km or even more. We will see.
