Because frequently in doctor/companion dynamics there’s a lot of devotion/ codependency, but less often do you have the companion asking or demanding of the doctor that kind of ill advised personal bending of the rules. which is not wholly unique to Clara either (Father’s Day and The Girl Who Waited come to mind), but she’s certainly the one who takes it the farthest
