I’ll tell you what. Seeing the pair of you together, I feel a lot better now than I did this morning when I was shouting the phone like a lunatic. (2 of 2)

Jack (with Victoria) is working on changing a tractor tire and lo and behold, Robert shows up. Robert tells Jack that Annie was aware he was coming home. He was staying with mates near the airport for awhile (who are these mates? 🤔). Robert assures Jack he is back for good ‘unless you plan on chucking me out.’ Jack phoned Diane about Robert. Sweet scene with Robert/Victoria which Andy interrupts being a git about Robert’s disappearing act. Robert asking about Katie ‘is she dead fit or what?’ (what exactly, he never was interested in that before). Jack’s pleased his family is together again. On their own, Robert makes it clear to Andy that things have changed between them 😏. Note: gifs will be posted separately not to delay the second part.

Robert: You’re a naive pillock you, aren’t ya.

Andy: What?

Robert: You think it’s all sweetness and light just cause I bring back a few gifts and we all get on in front of my dad. That were for their benefit, not yours.

Andy: What’d you mean?

Robert: Things have changed a bit, pal. Next time you have a go, you MIGHT still win. But I’ll have ya. Either when you’re not looking or when you’re asleep. I don’t care. The only thing that ain’t different is that we still live in the same house. (Gah, I’m seeing our Ryan here)

Well, I’ll tell you what. Don’t say anything else bad about him until he turns up. Then you can slag him off all you want. (1 of 2) 😒

And here we are Karl!Robert’s first appearance. Jack is absolutely frantic with worry about Robert and being fobbed off with an ‘non-entity sat on his backside in an office in Spain’ while Andy and Diane are ‘very relaxed’ about it all. Andy essentially vents to Katie about him and ‘pillock’ Robert’s conflicted relationship (I snipped out their kiss at the end of the scene). Jack misses a call from Robert. Robert is seen getting off a bus on his way home.

Andy: If it were me, he wouldn’t give a toss.

Katie: I thought you were mates, just from seeing you around school and that.

Andy: Sometimes, yeah. But… you know, you live together and… I just… we just seemed to… lose it a bit back.
