Ongoing Series - Thai

Me and Thee (Sat iQIYI) ep 6 of 10 - I love this show so much. I love that Thee showed up at Peach's door with a glass of water so it could be thrown in his face. This is the best. I love that Thailand wrote a character who could just be at That Cheesy.

Quattro formaggi levels of cheesy.

(And we even got a cute coming out moment.)

Dare You to Death (Thai Netflix) ep 1 of 10 - JoongDunk as police investigators in a mystery thriller. (My boys all grown up and scoring Netflix deals.) I have made no secret that this is one of my favorite GMMTV pairs and I am DELIGHTED with this show. I love a BL police procedural. I love that they’re leaning into a very "Chinese BL bromance" dynamic for the mains.

I love that they’re playing with JoongDunk DunkJoong and I hope they really lean into that (pun intended) and push it. Sure this show is cheesy, but it's like the right amount of parmesan sprinkled on top.

(Did you notice they dropped the egregious sound effects on this one, just left in swelling music? Do we think this is Netflix-deal related?)

Let Me Into Your Heart (Weds YT) 3 of 10 - It’s ADORBS. I didn't expect to enjoy this show so much. Our star and his crush = utterly charming. (I wanna track down some likay next time I'm in Thailand.)

Goddess Bless You From Death (Fri iQIYI) ep 8 of 13 - For a scary ghost investigation involving a serial killer and some gruesome deaths, this is a Cute BL. Not sure on the police procedural part, but otherwise I’m enjoying the hell out of this.

Reloved (Sat iQIYI) ep 4 of 10 - I don’t believe for one moment that is actually his son. Also, I don’t like that we’re at the place where there’s willful refusal to communicate going on. I’m getting Japanese "please just talk to each other" syndrome. Otherwise I am still enjoying this more than I expected.

I have to say, I like that they’re just airing this show tidy. No behind the scenes. No unwarranted MVs. No specials interrupting anything. Just one episode after another. It’s refreshing.

Burnout Syndrome (Weds iQIYI) ep 4 of 10 - Sill not my thing. Still can't stop watching. Do I like it? Not really. But it’s riveting.

Melody of Secrets (Thai Viu) eps 1-3 of 10 - Because I got my VPN up and running, I can watch this now. We now have solid evidence that ForceBook (EarthMix) are best in serious roles. (Although I don’t think I will ever be sold on their chemistry. If there is any, I’ve never seen it.) Back to this show…

I seem to have said this many many MANY times this year but man do I hate the amnesia trope! This show, and the way people treat each other (and react to each other) feels dreamlike and atmospheric. It makes it feel slightly unrealistic, but also as if we too are amnesiac. Which I think is the intent. I’m not sure if I like it. It’s on the director, so I am not blaming the pair, but the whole cast feels a little distanced and unreliable because of it. I don’t dislike it, given this concept, but I don’t like it either.

Interminable (Fri iQIYI) ep 7 of 11 - This episode was all about the romance in the past and how it got started. And also how evil the Faen Fetal character is in this particular series. Kinda boring, actually.

School Trip: Joined a Group I'm Not Close To aka Shugakuryoko de Nakayokunai Group ni Hairimashita (Japan Sun Gaga) ep 9 of 10 - Elder gay rep! They just hitting every damn bingo square with this show aren't they? It's made for me and @heretherebedork and we are DELIGHTED.

Love Begins in the World of If AKA If no Sekai de Koi ga Hajimaru (Japan Fri Gaga) ep 5 of 10 - I love them so much and I’m so grateful to Japan right now.

Therapy Game (Japan Thurs Gaga) ep 8 of 9 - Look. Japan is actually saving all of BL at the moment. More power to them. Ending the year strong.

To My Shore (China Sat/Sun Viki) eps 8-9 of 15 - Another game of pharmaceuticals, China? I’m actually back to enjoying this a bit more. It seems that whenever they are at odds, I like this show, but when they are being boyfriends, I don’t. GIVE ME THE PURE UNCUT TOXICITY CHINA.

Peach Trap (Korea Thurs Gaga) ep 5 of 8 -paused. I am able to get this now, but figured I'd wait until the finale and then just give up a summary.

Beside the Sky - Fourever You2 (Thai Viu) - Fah & Phoon from Fourever You in a very sad drama trauma piece. Looks GREAT and I think these actors can handle this kinda content. Unfortunately, this one is only on Viu which I don't have. Bummer, because I was looking forward to it.

Delivering a Delicious Divorce AKA Oishii Rikon Todokemasu (Japan Weds TVer) 10 eps - A brilliant lawyer teams up with his bf, a sharp-witted private detective, to tackle high-stakes cases of “love gone wrong” in this legal drama. I'm sourcing this nefariously and will binge once done.

Me and Who (Fri WeTV) ep 8 of 10 - I'm traveling and WeTV is not worth in on mobile. Summary when I gt home

10Dance - reviews are mixed so I haven't taken the plunge yes. Your thoughts appreciated.

I Finished It!

Thundercloud Rainstorm (Korea iQIYI) 8 eps - I don't know. This one lost me over the last few eps. it is a shame KBL can’t hold their toxicity to the same level depths as China and execute on that promise without going sappy. They had some good kinky contenders this year yet every one fumbled in the final quarter.

Summary

A sort of D/s BL that actually turned out to be about trauma and abuse. Korea + whipping boy + stepbrothers trope + kinky = made for me, and yet... It had courage to its convictions, they were just the wrong convictions. Nicely kinky at the start but otherwise this was depressing. The ending was aggressively FINE. I don’t know how to rate it as a result. 6/10 for pissing me off or 7/10 because that's what it deserves? 6/10 this is my damn blog.

SECRETS HAPPENED ON THE LITCHI ISLAND

Just finished Secrets Happened on the Litchi Island and what just happened?? Like. Wow.

This one came out of nowhere and completely stole my heart. It’s soft and quiet and full of that kind of gentle longing that sneaks up on you. The whole thing is on this ridiculously gorgeous island, and the atmosphere is almost dreamlike - lush greenery, seaside breezes, that slow summertime pace where it feels like time’s standing still. If you’re thinking “oh, sounds just like Call Me By Your Name” - well, you would be right because this is China’s CMBYN.

The romance is slow-burn but so worth it. You can feel every glance, every hesitation. When they finally kissed in Episode 7??? I gasped. Xiao Zhi’s tears? The relief? I swear my soul left my body. And let’s be clear - the kisses wasn’t just sweet, it was hot. Like actually hot. Not “maybe they brushed lips and the camera cut away” hot, but full-on, passionate, lingering, real chemistry kind of hot. And in a Chinese BL?? SAVE ME, SECRETS HAPPENED ON THE LITCHI ISLAND!!

Jesus. Every moment felt earned, every touch loaded with meaning. There was this constant tension simmering under the surface, and when it finally broke, it delivered.

Some of the scenes honestly felt like a dream. There are moments where nothing really happens, but it feels like everything is happening - the constant motion of these boys left me breathless.

And then there’s this scene at the old ruins - overgrown stone, dappled light, the air thick with unspoken feelings. It felt like stepping into a forgotten memory - I wasn’t sure how much of it actually happened and how much of it was Xiao Zhi’s subconscious but it was like time had paused just for them to exist in that space together and yet they were still running away from getting caught, from being found out, from the reality. God. This scene is just pure madness, honestly. I can’t get over it. It is 3 minutes of poetry.

Also, can we talk about how grounded the whole story felt? Like yeah, it’s a love story, but it’s also about healing, letting go, and finding peace in the smallest things. Nothing felt rushed. It just… unfolded. Quietly. Beautifully.

Definitely one of the best surprises of the year for me. If you’re into soft boys, emotional slow burns, and gorgeous cinematography that’ll make you want to pack up and move to a tiny island, this is for you.

Watch it. Thank me later.

Me and Thee (Sat iQIYI) ep 3 of 10 - Thee basically defines EXTRA. It’s everything he is. And it’s everything to me. I love this very silly show very much.

Reloved (Sat iQIYI) ep 1 of 10 - Tiny gay family! College sweethearts reunite, only now they both have kids. Side couple is tatted-up badie photographer meets buttoned-up CEO and I like everything about this show's dynamics.

And...

I like a lot. It’s very Gay for a BL. (I’m not gonna explain that. If you’ve been around this long enough, you know what I mean.) It's also raunchy which I wasn’t expecting from a family drama. But here we are in 2025 and the unexpected just happens now.

Goddess Bless You From Death (Fri iQIYI) ep 5 of 13 - Honestly, you all know I love Pavel but I really do think Pooh is doing a stellar job with his role. I am enjoying this show so much because of that and the stilly plot. It gives me Manner of Death vibes with the ghost story as a fun twist. I have come to enjoy the PitBabe team doing whatever it is that they feel like doing, even if it mostly seems to be gallivanting around and not actually acting or performing a whole lot.

Burnout Syndrome (Weds iQIYI) 10 eps - OffGun are back, Kinging along. Yay! All hail the Kings of BL. Yes, by my calculations, this makes them current champions at 6 BLs (MaxNat also have 6, but a lot of shorts & sides plus Burnout is the most recent). High, Thor! Why so hot? Also Dew. Argh. He’s so good. This has a stage show feel to it. This plot is gonna kill me, tho. Normally this is not my style of BL, but I can’t lie, this was a banging first episode. I’m very invested.

Interminable (Fri iQIYI) ep 4 of 11 - This is very To Sir With love lakorn at this point = mustache twirling red lipstick wearing evil. (Where is my death glitter, I ask you?) Anygay, if you like a soapy mellow-drama (pun intended), this will work for you. If you don’t, it won’t. And that’s pretty much where we are. Also BillyBabe serve some of the best NC. And I do mean SERVE, kings.

Me and Who (Fri WeTV) ep 7 of 10 - This is one of those instances where the pair chemistry is carrying the show. While that was fine 2-3 years ago, there’s too much BL now, and we have too much to choose from. You can’t get away with just chemy anymore. The rest of the show also needs to be decent.

My Secret of Seer (Mon YouTube) ep 6 of 8 - this show has become very much not very good.

Head 2 Head (Sun YT) ep 5 of 10 - while this pair is fine, they still have no idea how to kiss. This annoys me more then it should.

The Love Never Sets (Tues iQIYI) ep 7 of 12 - I actually don’t mind a bit of long-suffering misunderstood and abused uke character. But this show is taking it too far. There’s also very little else that is good about it. The acting is OK, but that’s it.

The Cursed Love (YT) 10 end - OK, so now we know all the backstory and things just start happening. Various people are dying. I’m not entirely sure what’s going on. And it ends with tragedy. Great.

Summary

A martyr narrative about a group of forest rangers, 3 of whom have elemental powers and are attempting to stop Evil from emerging from a lost city. Also a love triangle. They pretty but not so smart. An interesting premise, but unfortunately, it kills the gay. It tried to redeem itself, but nothing ever really made much sense including the ending. 3/10

The Wicked Game (iQIYI)

A chaebol-esk lakorn about family inheritance drama and power struggles that was held together by DaouOffroad’s chemistry rather than script, logic, or plot. Broken cocky illegitimate rich kid returns to daddy's fam for a spot of revenge. Honest cop framed for bribery becomes his bodyguard over shared pain and enemies. This is a pitch perfect Cdrama billionaire revenge romance trash… only as a Thai BL with one of our best indie pairs. Fantastic ingredients unfortunately it was over-seasoned and overcooked. This is a hard one for me to rate 'cause the chemistry is so damn good but most everything else is so damn bad. Going with my gut. 7/10

Love Begins in the World of If AKA If no Sekai de Koi ga Hajimaru (Japan Fri Gaga) ep 2 of 10 - This show is fascinating.

Therapy Game (Japan Thurs Gaga) ep 5 of 10 - Aw poor baby. He’s so hurt. They both are. I do enjoy, sometimes, how Japan just holds up a magnifying glass to pain. Also they are so cute. And their brothers are so cute. Everyone is just so cute.

Thundercloud Rainstorm (Korea Thurs iQIYI) ep 1 of 8 - Korea? Starting us on a kiss? Fun fun. Another toxic BL. This one is stepbrothers-esk plus whipping boy. Lots of bullying already, and some def kink also! So if that smoothie is not for you, avoid drinking. But boy am I slurping it up. This is my brand of toxicity.

The Story of Bi Hyeong aka Enchanted Master of the Goblin (Korea Thurs iQIYI) ep 9 of 12 - rock dude and fox boy confession interuptus.

Peach Trap (Korea Thurs Gaga) ep 4 of 8 - This show has gone into entirely and completely ridiculous territories. Now we know who The Kiss was with and that it was a Good Kiss. We also know who endgame is.

To My Shore (China Sat/Sun Viki) eps 4-5 of 15 - I just… don't know about this. Do I like this? At least the kisses are Thai quality. I'm pretty sure I don't like it. Its entire purpose and plot would appear to just be… toxic. (The backwards phone was v funny tho.)

At 25:00 in Akasaka Season 2 (Japan Thurs Gaga) ep 9 of 10 - Living up to Japan’s favorite trope: Why don’t you two just talk?

Punks Triangle (Japan Gaga)

A supermodel pretends to be an ordinary fashion student and falls in love with a boy who has a crush on (read: obsession with) his alter ego. Since this is basically a secret identity (read: big lie) narrative, I could never get into it. It’s well done if you can live with the conceits, but not for me. 7/10 (I know it's more of an 8 show, but I just didn't like it, so there)

It's airing but.....

A Man Who Defies the World of BL Final (Season 4) (Japan Mon Gaga) - I'm a fan of this franchise but this is not a BL and there is no story to really follow so won't be chronicling it here. It is delightful and I recommend watching it tho.

Mystique in the Mirror (Thai Weds iQIYI) 8 eps - This is psychological horror taking place in an insane asylum and that is very much NOT for me. I’ll let someone more diligent tell me if it’s worth it - after it finishes.

Oct 2025 Week 2

Ongoing Series - Thai

The Wicked Game (Sat iQIYI) ep 3 of 10 - I do love this show. I like that our heroes keep getting knocked down. I like a morally bankrupt babygirl meets paladin down on his luck. (Word of Honor anyone?) But we got us early kissing... I mean yeah, these 2 give GREAT kiss but pacing-wise this means trouble.

Khemjira (Sat iQIYI) 10 of 12 - as much as I love a good romantic meet cute, I love a good friendship meet cute more. Very excited that we got to see Jet & Khem. I love Jet so much. I also really identify with him, since I’m usually the one who rides to the rescue with all my friends.

The Cursed Love (Thai Weds YT) ep 1 of 10 - BL does Brigadoon? That was NOT on my bingo card. Oh I like this a lot. I’m not sure if it’s staying on YT or if we’re just getting the first couple episodes this way, but definitely worth watching. It’s got some reborn soulmates. Supernatural power. Bad ass fighting skills. And they are all very pretty. I am getting watered-down The Sign, and I’m not even slightly upset. Bring it.

Love in the Moonlight (Tues & Weds Gaga) eps 7-8 of 10 - Am still enjoying this. It’s very tense and dramatic. And now it’s come over all romantic. (Incidentally that poem was in Thai frozen register. Cool, no?) The confession came a little bit out of nowhere, but what a great kiss. All that hesitancy and fear and then bottled-up need. Very well done boys, I must say. But... I don’t see how they’re gonna land this one happily.

That Summer (Fri YT) ep 4 of 10 - Poor boy has amnesia, so he’s already having an identity crisis, and now another boy is kissing him so he's having more of an identity crisis. Level up to "existential crisis" one would assume? Very gay of then to end up in bed at ep 4, very NOT soft BL tho. Danger incoming!

Rearrange (Mon Gaga) ep 9 of 10 - Oh my goodness he survived. I wasn’t expecting that.

I'm The Most Beautiful Count (Fri iQIYI) ep 11 of 13 - Frankly, I only have any interest at all in king + servant pair. So I was pleased that this episode revolved primarily around them. I do have to ask, why is little kingalingling in a blue sailor boy meets late victorian swimming costume?

Revamp: The Undead Story (Sat iQIYI) ep 8 of 10 - I am struck, as is often the case with vampire stories, how they are actually just mafia dramas with immortality thrown in. Anygay... sins of the fathers and siblings and all that. Blah blah blah.

Lover Merman (Sat Gaga Viki) ep 3 of 8 - It's kind of fun to watch two consummate flirts in action. But goodness is the acting in this show craptastic. I like that our seme owned up to his bad behavior but his excuses did not excuse his actions, nor should we reward his bad behavior with smexitimes! Very upsetting.

Ongoing Series - Not Thai

At 25:00 in Akasaka Season 2 (Japan Thurs Gaga) ep 2 of 10 - OMG did they...? Did they actually talk about it! Roll out the red carpet we got COMMUNICATION... in a JBL! Hold my hat, I may faint. In less sarcastic news, I’m really loving the other 2 actors in the show-within-the-show. I’m pretty sure they’re not actually going to become a side couple but they’re both such punk asses and such different ways and they bounce off each other so well, they’re quite a joy whenever they're on screen together. (Yes I recognize them both, did you know they both started smooching boys in the Kiss X Kiss X Kiss series? Great series.) All in all, this is a fun second season.

I honestly never thought I'd say such a thing.

The Story of Bi Hyeong aka Enchanted Master of the Goblin (Korea Thurs iQIYI Gaga) ep 2 of 12 - I'm mighty intrigued by this show. I like the story a lot. I’m enjoying the characters. I want more of the fox boy, of course I do. Who doesn’t want more of a fox boy? (e.g. Bambam) But yeah, this is pretty good so far.

My Secret Vampire (Korea Fri iQIYI) ep 4 of 8 - Well aren't they a very cute couple?

Punks Triangle (Japan Fri Gaga) ep 1 of 8 - interesting premise. It’s gonna require a lot of buy-in to our lead's extreme naïveté. But it’s less predictable than I thought it was gonna be out the gate so I’m interested. (Must we be so Hot Topic about it all tho? Wardrobe! Heal thyself. Japan has, ya know, actual fashion. Do better.)

My Bias Is Showing (Korea Thurs Gaga) ep 7 of 10 - my goodness, how much does Korea love a tall hot guy in an oversized fuzzy sweater? (Let me count the shows.) Look, not only is there the obsessive fan component, but this one is also heavy on the cringe and secondhand embarrassment. And I can sometimes take one but all three together. Whoa. I am glad the secret is finally coming out though. I’d like to see everybody be honest with each other in a KBL for more than the last five minutes of the final episode.

The Journey to Kill You aka Anata wa Korosu Tabi (Japan Fri Gaga) eps 4 of 6 - Ah murder husbands, only one of them is supposed to kill the other. Got it. Classic. Why am I getting Double Mints vibes? I don’t want those vibes.

Takumi-Kun the series (Japan Sun Gaga) ep 3 of 6 - what even

It Finished - My Final Thoughts

Summer Indigo (vertical KBL on iQIYI) - About a kid in a judo club who starts an online relationship with an older boy. Turns out that boy is also the star of the club. So this is a sports BL with a catfish (secret identity) element, and there’s also some mistaken identity, bullying, hazing and abuse (not within the context of the relationship which is very sweet and protective). There’s also homophobia. This show is decidedly not in the KBL bubble, so we are in FC Soldout + 8th Sense territory. As a couple they are incredibly cute and the story was well acted and absorbing. As none of the triggers in this were mine, I actually really enjoyed it. I don't recommend a vertical BL often, but I liked this one. One of the better things to come out of Korea this year, actually. A solid 8/10

Love Sea: Ai no Ibasho (Japan Tues Gaga) 10 eps - (At least it feels like it finished. I guess we have a special ep coming? whatever.)

Summary

A second Mame adaptation from Japan, what joy is mine. Pretty much what it says on the tin, a Japanese remake of the original Love Sea offering. Such as it was. No significant improvements were made either direction except that one country's taste was super-imposed upon the others. And I didn’t like the first iteration... be it matcha latte or real matcha, if one does not like matcha one will not like the end result. It me. I don't like matcha. Nothing more to say. 7/10

ABO Desire (China Sat Viki) 16 eps end - Man what a doozy. They gave me my little gay families but they really stiffed us on this finale. We could’ve had a lot less screen time of "evil gamble father" and a lot of more time with a reconciliation for the side couple. It’s pretty hard to forgive the misuse of such an excellent side pairing. (Although, to be fair, I don't think the actor playing Shen Wen could have hacked it, he was painfully stiff.) It’s not surprising from China, which normally doesn’t have second string at all. And when they do it’s usually half-assed and dismissed. Still, I’m a bit disgruntled that Desire let us down in the 11th hour.

Summary

Close on the herculean strides of Revenged Love, China continued its historic 2025 run on the international BL market with the first true ABO mpreg piece. There is some semblance of story = about a boy who falls in love right before he manifests as an enigma (secret extra-special tippy-top of food chain) and then obsessively stalks/courts the object of his devotion though means both fair and foul (mostly foul). Why so secretive and manipulative? No reason, just is. This show focuses on this most perfect sociopath ult babygirl being a violent, unchecked, conniving, psychotic monster so pretty he will hurt your teeth intent on possessing, owning, and sexing-up one increasingly confused alpha. And he wins and we likey (so does the alpha). There is actual on screen kissing (yes, from China) combined with some of the world's hottest shirt suspenders and some of the world's ugliest shirts. The end. That's the whole show. Oh... there is a nod at a intriguing side couple who ended up being mere set dressing. And there is also actual ON SCREEN mpreg. 2x. (Which broke Tumblr.) Plus China aired this by distributing through Hong Kong to a Taiwanese platform and if that isn't How Dare levels of malarkey I don't know what is. Wild times we live in.

Confession?

I loved this very silly show, and the main pair was a work of art. For what it is and how much I enjoyed the experience, I have to go outside of my comfort zone with this rating. I admit, this is an 8/10 show, but I personally am compelled to give it a 9/10 on pure entertainment value. And for the icon of our times that it undoubtably is. And yes I will do a whole damn blog post about the darn thing.

But frankly, I'm relieved it's over.

Mandate (Thai grey) 8 eps - started 9/12 trailer This one is HARD to get hold of, here is your backdoor. I make no claims to how long it lasts. I'm watching it if/when I can, will report in at end. For now: I like it a lot. I’m not into politics or activism but the ideology makes for interesting tension and external pressures.

4 Destiny Project: The Last Night | Red Moon and Wine | Unin Heart | Blood Fighters | (Thai YT+VPN) 2 eps - the Destiny line of sampler-pack BL began again on 9/18. Word on the street is the first one was mind numbingly dull. That plus impossible to get hold of means I'm not bothering with any of them.

Air Moment (Thai ????) 7 eps - Post-apoc piece that looks profoundly not good. But they got BL in my scifi (and that never happens) so I'll try to watch if I can.

Delivering a Delicious Divorce aka Oishii Rikon Todokemasu aka Delicious Divorces (Japan Weds TVer) 10 eps - Started 10/1 A brilliant lawyer, renowned for winning huge divorce settlements, teams up with his partner, a sharp-witted private detective, to tackle high-stakes cases of “love gone wrong” in this legal drama. I don't have the ability to watch this.

10/12 Chosen Home aka Our House aka Bokutachin'ie (Japan Sun ????) 10 eps - Two gay men (age 50 and 38) buy a house and take in a 15-year-old girl who has run away from home. Eyebrows are raised over the casting of Oikawa in the lead (although he's clearly not against gay roles as he appeared as an ex in Kinou Nani Tabeta? Season 2).

10/14 The Love Never Sets (Thai Tues iQIYI) 12 eps - trailer Ja is back with a new partner and back in uni in a cohabitation BL. Durian is the real weapon. There's both sexual abuse and bullying in this one, so triggers all round. (But for me it'll mostly be the durian.)

10/17 Me and Who (Thai Fri WeTV) 10 eps trailer - Domundi brings back the lead pair from Monster Next Door, BigPark, in an adaptation of Wickedwish’s novel. A poor young man dies and is reborn into the body of a billionaire heir. The heir happens to be engaged to a handsome man who can read his mind. I'm intrigued, this is a newish trope for BL.

10/18 School Trip: Joined a Group I'm Not Close To aka Shugakuryoko de Nakayokunai Group ni Hairimashita (Japan Sat Gaga) 10 eps - F4 goes gay in a Boys Over Flowers Boys remake. Stars Hideyoshi (from Although I Love You & You). Hioki, a second-year high school student, finds himself alone on a school trip. He is invited by a boy from the same junior high to join a group of 4 handsome guys = the "Four Heavenly Kings." One of the 4 looks out for Hioki and they become close.

10/20 My Secret of Seer (Thai Mon ????) 10 eps - trailer A 26-year-old fortune teller haunted by bad luck must find someone with spiritual power to survive the year. That turns out to be a ghost show host who doesn't believe in ghosts. When the skeptic and the seer team up, a clash between science and the supernatural begins.

10/30 Therapy Game (Japan Thurs ????) 10 eps - Minato, a gay man with an "extreme bro-complex," meets a drunk man named Shizuma at a bar. They spend the night together at a hotel, but when Shizuma wakes up, he remembers nothing! Enraged, Minato declares that he will win Shizuma's heart.

10/31 Goddess Bless You from Death (Thai Fri iQIYI) 10 eps - trailer Pavel and Pooh return to our screens in new roles. Thup, a young man with extraordinary senses, is drawn into investigating a mysterious murder case involving brutally mutilated bodies found in the forest alongside the more rational thinker, Singha.

Sept 2025 Week 4

Ongoing Series - Thai

The Wicked Game (Sat iQIYI) ep 1 of 10 - I LOVE IT. I love a bastard youngest son with a vendetta. I love chaebol (or whatever you wanna call the Thai version of bullshit rich kid folderol). Heirs and I go way back, so this is exactly my cup of tea. Sure it’s weird to see such babies pretending to be grown-ups, but there’s a grand tradition of baby-face CEOs in oversized suits out of China, so I’m used to it. It’s great. Carry on. Also, how much do I love that Daou is basically turning into an action star right in front of us? He’s really good. I am quite enjoying this show, how DELIGHTFUL.

Khemjira (Sat iQIYI) 8 of 12 - What a lovely kiss. OMG they are great together! Yay! I was a bit worried, I doubted the chemistry. (One shouldn't doubt Domundi on chemistry, I suppose.) Plot = fun. Sides = great. I love how they make a handhold so significant even though they’ve already slept together. Precious. Smiles and hand jobs for our leads? AND linguistic negotiation my old friend? Well color me chuffed.

My Magic Prophecy (Sun YT) ep 9 of 10 - they are so sweet together. And have we seen a wound kiss since Trapped? I did not expect to love the sides as much as I do in this show. I wish we got more of them. I hope we get to see the pair again. Lovely first kiss and excellent banter. (Would like to see a whole show with cop + doctor protags. Just saying. Soldier/healer is my favorite dynamic.) First makes for a good bad guy. Jimmy is good at distress. Good showing GMMTV boys, well done yous.

Love in the Moonlight (Tues & Weds? Gaga) eps 3 of 10 - ah the age old duet-lament of the gays. At least this time it was instrumental and not vocal. I got to say that Peak is doing a great job with this role. It’s amazing to watch him on screen 10 years after Make it Right.

I'm going to say it because I live this stereotype. But the two leads in this drama have never been straighter than when they were dancing together. Normally, it’s only singing that does it for me, but christ on crutches that was awful. NO DANCING

There is a ton of tension in this show, with everybody out to get something from everybody else - well mostly from our prince. But it’s really good for the pacing. And since there’s a deadly secret being kept, the fear of discovery adds even more tension. I’m enjoying this show primarily because of that.

That Summer (Fri YT) ep 2 of 10 - I absolutely unequivocally adore the side couple. Definitely the best thing about this show so far.

Lover Merman (Sat Gaga Viki) ep 1 of 8 - Well this is a pulp, moving slowly but that adds a relaxed vacation under-water feel to the whole thing. Which I like. I'm enjoying the friendships and the dynamics of the bar team, but the acting is very stiff, and the chemistry is lacking. I wish they had workshopped. But I’m disposed to be interested because of the premise.

Revamp: The Undead Story (Sat iQIYI) ep 6 of 10 - I simply can’t watch the action sequences, especially right after watching Wicked Game. This show just gets increasingly Twilightesk. Or perhaps more like a Twilight fanfic? I don't know, v much not my fandom.

I'm The Most Beautiful Count (Fri iQIYI) ep 9 of 13 - is it just me, or did the prince's outfit look like something from a high school play? I’m not knocking the style but the quality had a certain cardboard feel to it. I suppose they have to cost-cut somewhere. Jade + Little Prince Foofoo are a cute couple tho. My favs in this show.

Rearrange (Mon Gaga) ep 7 of 10 - I’m fast-forwarding through a lot of this show at this juncture.

Ongoing Series - Not Thai

ABO Desire (China Sat Viki) ep 14 of 16 - Kicking feet and screaming! I love them and their were warped little power dynamic. So damn kinky. This is excellent. I love this stupid show SO MUCH. How others felt about Revenged Love is how I feel about Desire.

My Secret Vampire (Korea Fri iQIYI) ep 2 of 8 - I’m enjoying this. Mostly because Yu Sin looks like a cross between Kim Kang Min (To My Star) and Jinyoung (my GOT7 bias).

My Bias Is Showing (Korea Thurs Gaga) ep 5 of 10 - My cringe and second hand embarrassment are v high with this show.

So the little guest KPOP group? Jazz for Two cast. CUTE. One of them is also in OMEGA X. Also Kim Jin Kwon is/was NEWKIDD.

Love Sea: Ai no Ibasho (Japan Tues Gaga) eps 8 of 10 - not gonna lie, I’m bored.

Takumi-Kun the series (Japan Sun Gaga) ep 1 of 6 - This is interesting, they’re not doing the original first book/movie, but jumping in at book/movie 2. Also there are a lot more couples in this show and it’s a much bigger cast than is normal for a modern JBL. So far I certainly like this better than any prior iterations. But this many couples + that big of a cast and still keeping it extremely short is not gonna work out well for anybody.

I’m warning you upfront that Takumi’s backstory is bad. Like really really really all the triggers bad. Worst that Japan can do, so be ready. Well, okay, it's no Shortest Distance but you get me? Can’t say I didn’t warn you.

The Journey to Kill You AKA Anata wa Korosu Tabi (Japan Fri Gaga) eps 1-2 of 6 - Well well well, do we have real yakuza yaoi in the house? All triggers out the gate r*p*, abuse, violence, gangs, etc… it’s an interesting piece and I am transported back 20 years with it, but do I like it? Not really.

This is why I am always so confused that patriarchal societies don't encourage gay marriage.

It Finished - My Final Thoughts

Doctor's Mine (Sun YT) 10 eps - A second try at adapting Gown & Gear and 2 rounds of casting put LLS in the lead but despite his best efforts this is another banal (to the point of offensive) uni BL featuring doctors + engineers from the 2 Moons phase of Thai BL. This is basically the definition of a Thai pulp in 2025. Chaotic, high heat (just THERE on YT!) in which plot, motivation, and characterization are a struggle (for everyone) but the sides were fine, they carried the show. The final ep was fine too. 5/10

DogBro (Thai YT) 10 eps - no one reported in so I assume I shouldn't bother.

It's airing but.....

Dating Game (Thai grey) 12 eps started 7/14 - ends on 29. I am currently getting it nefariously. Will report next week (I hope) if it's worth the hunt (and the ads).

10/2 At 25:00 in Akasaka Season 2 (Japan Thurs Gaga) 10 eps - Shirasaki and Hayama have finally confessed their secret feelings and are now a couple. The two struggle to find space in their busy schedules to spend time together. You know I dislike second seasons but I enjoyed the first season of this show (especially the final 2 episodes) so I might binge this after it airs, if told it's safe.

10/3 The Story of Bi Hyeong aka Enchanted Master of the Goblin (Korea Fri iQIYI Gaga) 12 eps - trailer Innocent boy ends up with a bunch of supernaturals as roomies. They all v hot. You have my attention, Korea.

10/4 Papa and Daddy's Home Cooking (Japan Sat ????) may not be BL, no MDL listing I can find - Based on the manga of the same name this is a story of two single dads who come together to raise their kids. They cast some pretty big guns for us to expect a gay kiss. So I'm calling this for the Bromance crowd (if there is one).

10/10 Punks Triangle (Japan Fri ????) 8 eps - Love triangle between a fashion designer and 2 models. Premise reminds me of the KBL Behind Cut from 2022.

School Trip: Joined a Group I'm Not Close To aka Shugakuryoko de Nakayokunai Group ni Hairimashita (Japan Sun Gaga) ep 3 of 10 - The entire plot and romance of this show is driven by the hot wingmen. They are, possibly, the best consortium of wingman ever assembled. They are going to make sure their buddy gets his boy if it’s the last thing they do. I LOVE THEM.

Peach Trap (Korea Thurs Gaga) ep 1 of 8 - Stars Subin from Viction, in a soft take on Secret Relationships, Yoo Do Ha is in the biggest crisis of his life and then 3 men start flirting with him. Taekwondo boy shows up, me, = oooo dimples! (We have a favorite.) I kinda like the flirty cafe owner too, thp. To pick up a boy while he’s there on a date with another boy? Tres ballsie. Anygay, I like it!

Therapy Game (Japan Thurs Gaga) ep 2 of 10 - Shortest bisexual identity crisis on record? But I love how this is actually an insight into his personality. I might love him. I have to say, I like them both a lot actually. This is charming. What a fun show. I really hope they can stick the landing on this one because I am all in.

At 25:00 in Akasaka Season 2 (Japan Thurs Gaga) ep 6 of 10 - Given other people‘s reactions to this show, it just occurred to me to wonder if I'm enjoying this partly because I’m not particularly invested in the main couple. Huh.

The Story of Bi Hyeong aka Enchanted Master of the Goblin (Korea Thurs iQIYI) ep 6 of 12 - I love that we get so much more of stoneman and foxboy. They make me happy. All-in-all a very cute episode.

Summary

Innocent boy shacks up with a bunch of vampires (none of whom act like it), falls in love with the oldest. That is the whole thing. It’s fine. 8/10

Mystique in the Mirror (Thai Weds iQIYI) 8 eps - This is psychological horror taking place in and out of an insane asylum, and that is very much NOT for me. Like some other Thai BLs in recent memory, I'm not gonna watch this. I’ll let someone more diligent tell me if it’s worth it - after it finishes.

Also GMMTV never gonna let us forget they bagged two of BL's best bods with PP, thanks all for the visuals in advance.

11/21 Love Begins in the World of If AKA If no Sekai de Koi ga Hajimaru (Japan ????) 10 eps - Transferred from a technical position at which he excelled to the sales department, introvert Akihito feels week and incompetent. He likes and envies, Ookami, ace of sales, although their relationship is strained. Then Akihito wanders into a magic shrine and wishes, to become someone who is good enough to be friends with Ookami. And begins his journey into an alt reality where they are not anly friends but possibly more.

11/26 Burnout Syndrome (Thai GMMTV YT & iQIYI) 10 eps - OffGun are back again, Kinging along. GMMTV doing edgy is never a good thing IMHO, and in this one they're handling sex work (shakes head). However, Not Me is the noted exception and this is that same pair and same director. So I'm curious, if not wild about the content. However, I am delighted to see Gun with someone else (Dew is a stunning choice, thank you casting) even if only for a love triangle moment. It's been a WHILE.

11/29 Reloved (Thai ????) 10 eps trailer - Tiny gay family! College sweethearts reunite out int he work force, now they both have kids. Side couple is tatted up badie meets buttoned up office worker and I like everything about this shows dynamics.

11/?? 404 Still Remain, Our 5 Minutes (Korea ????) - Released as a movie in 2024 this is getting a series cut and inter release at last. I think it might be sad tho. In 2001, Gyeong Hwan, a high school freshman, transferred from Yeongcheon to Suseong District in Daegu, known for its educational enthusiasm. Gyeong Hwan is an otaku obsessed with Japanese culture and soon discovers that Jae Min, the class president who sits next to him, is also a fan of Japanese music and culture. As the two gradually grow closer, Jae Min quietly helps Gyeong Hwan adjust to his new environment, and in return, Jae Min begins to open up to him.

I'm not sure on this one actually airing this month... but it's usually Gaga that gets this kind of thing.

Knock Out (Fri WeTV ) ep 6 of 12 - I continue to very much enjoy this show, all of the couples have great chemistry, the plot is entertaining, It’s a solid sports romance and I adore a sports romance. Nothing not to love.

My Stubborn (Sun iQIYI) ep 6 of 10 - No no no. Sorn is supposed to suffer. This is not acceptable. Do not just give in like that! Oh thank goodness, yay! Confrontation, make him suffer, Junbaby! You go sweetie! Good. Good, suffering. More suffering is needed! Tai make him suffer too!

Reset (Mon iQIYI) ep 3 of 10 - Did Thada just buy his man a plastic bowl so he could eat his ramen as they walk down a street? Interesting choice. Also “workcation” = v modern word… so Thada must also be on a Reset? I do love that Thada is putting all of his cards on the table so quickly, definitely one who feels like time might run out and he has to get it right this time around. Thada is treating a relationship with Armin exactly the same way that Armin is treating his acting career. As I think you could probably tell, I am enjoying this very much. What a good show.

Memoir of Rati (Fri Netflix or YT) ep 1 of 12 - I was resistant to picking this one up, despite my love of both pairs. The title, intro music, and setting make me nervous that we won’t get a happy ending. That said, I am particularly interested in this time of Thailand‘s history and the complicated diplomacy that went on. And holy heck can GreatInn serve up some stellar chemistry.

My Sweetheart Jom (Fri YT) ep 6 of 12 - I continue to enjoy this more as it gets more plot heavy and convoluted. To be clear, that’s not normally what I like in my BL and certainly not what I expect from Thailand, or that Thailand does well. But there’s something about the way this show is paced that I'm enjoying more now than at the start. And we should be in the soggy middle. So, I guess... well done little show?

Pit Babe 2 (Fri iQIYI) ep 8 of 13 - Kenta Kim kiss! Yay!!! Chris’s epic eye rolls make me happy. However, this plot is Very Silly Indeed and I am very entertained. What a vroom vroom full of nonsense this is.

I Promise I Will Come Back (Mon WeTV) ep 5 of 10 - Oh what a lovely first kiss… touch… and so forth. I love this! It’s actually kind of special. How unexpected. (Ep 5A if you just wanna watch the moment.) I’ve said it before, there’s nothing wrong with the acting in this show. It’s the general story and script that’s troubling me. But my goodness all 3 leads are great.

The Next Prince (Sat iQIYI) ep 8 of 14 - It has been a bumper of a week and I’m grumpy, and unfortunately this particular show is bearing the brunt of it. I’m sorry, but the main couple are just so one note and it’s becoming quite trying. Something has to actually evolve with their characters, ya know? Now the sides …. very nicely done, give us more of them.

The Bangkok Boy (Sat Gaga) ep 9 of 12 - It was a decent episode. But I’m really not sure about this show as a BL. It’s making me increasingly nervous.

Boys in Love (Sun iQIYI ) ep 7 of 12 - Just as I suspected, lots of nothing happening. Sports day. Whatever. (Always been Blue Team myself… just FYI.)

SunTiny (Tues iQIYI) ep 1-2 of 10 - Look here, there’s a lot to like about this show. I like the idea of messing with standard misconceptions of top/bottom, and I LOVE it when the fandom hets and their dumb ideas of sex get the vapors. Blow their tiny minds, boys. Please.

However, I am a little crushed that it takes a bodyswap for us to have a femme top. I hate bodyswap narratives. It’s one of my least favorite tropes. And I’m not sure this particular pair has the acting chops to carry this off. No skin off of MaxNat - good chemistry and decent actors, but to act like another person in your own body genuinely requires a level of physicality and verbal execution, a new way of holding the jaw and face to make believable. It’s not something that’s easy to do. Max is doing a slightly better job at it. He is certainly better at facial nuance and tone shift, but his physicality remains the same.

I love that this show is absolutely gonna mess with the worst of the fandom. That makes me really damn happy. Although it is dangerous territory for this pair to enter into and not a subject matter I expect Thailand to handle with delicacy. I do love all of the jockeying with linguistics and verbal pronouns and such. That is fun.

As of now though, I remain torn. It's gonns have to prove itself.

Eye Contact (Weds WeTV) ep 6 end? - I don’t like anything that happened at the back end of this show. And I’m not going to forgive it. I don’t like where the characters went. I don’t like where the relationships went. I don’t like what was done with the story arc. I don’t like the choices that were made by anyone. I am, to put it simply, cheesed off. The GL couple is the only good thing about this and they got practically no screen time. I’m tempted to say that this was originally slated to be a 12 episode and it stopped halfway through.

Summary

A promising start for a craptastic but delightfully edgy pulp derailed abruptly in the second act by miserable disconnected story arcs full of dysfunctional relationships, poor life choices, and every trigger in the book with no payout or attempt to resolve or address the resulting trauma. Including mine. I am seriously displeased. 3/10

Ball Boy Tactics (Korea Thurs iQIYI) ep 3 of 8 - They. Are. So. Cute. I love them so much. No notes, absolutely my favorite thing airing right now.

Sweetheart Service (Korea Fri YT) ep 7 of 12 - How delightful that the sides got some love. That was charming. They went on a date. They are so damn adorable. Meanwhile our leads are the bestest boys.

Moon and Dust (China YT) ep 5 of 6 - Yay biting! Oh this show is so ffed up and I love that. It’s so good. It’s so warped. It’s so good because it’s so warped. I am scared (for me and the show) but so pleased.

He is my rabid dog child and I LOVE HIM. Let him fuck bite his brother if he wants.

Revenged Love (China Mon Gaga) ep 1-4 of 24? - A remake of 2015's Falling in Love with a Rival. From China ON GAGA? What alt-reality IS THIS? No idea on the length, MDL says 24 but at 45 a pop, I'm wondering if that's correct, because that would make this the first full length CBL we have had since... well, Advance Bravely. But also, see the next section, this could be shut down at any moment.

And now, some thoughts:

It is so like its source, absolutely unhinged CBL. Snake fighting. So much smoking. Money throwing. Gifting boys. Gang rp. UNHINGED. What the actual?

At least this time the seme is established queer out the gate closet? Our baby boy is a bit of a loser. And the meat cute was way more modern BL. Of course seme is also truly evil, he’s openly queer and this is CBL so he must be corrupt in all ways. (I don’t make the rules the CCP does.)

Of course I LOVE the doctor. (Also the psycho baby brother from Moon & Dust, did you clock?) I don’t think I’ve ever loved a character this much this quickly since Film was last on my screen. He is glorious.

Anyway, I have no faith in this ending in a satisfying manner, or indeed ending at all, but boy am I enjoying this WILD ride.

Depth of Field AKA Hishakai Shindo (Japan Fri Gaga) ep 1-2 of 6 - The actor playing Hayakawa was in one of the Kiss shorts! Neat. Well we know he can certainly kiss a boy. Meanwhile, this is warped, a little creepy, and sort of messed up. And exactly what I expected from this IP. I like it, as I usually do with stuff from Japan. I’m making no guarantees on where this is going tho. Remember, never try to predict Japanese BL. Safer on the psyche.

The Sparkle In Your Eye (Singapore Sun Gaga & Viki) eps 9-10 of 12 - characters aren’t talking to each other or telling the truth. It's very sappy and heart wrenching and tiring.

This has happened before. I said a little while ago that the CBL industry & online behavior keeps giving me 2016 vibes and that time period seems to be repeating itself. (Maybe all these do-over time travel BLs lateIy have been trying to tell us something?) I know this new spate of uncensored CBLs are only being distributed internationally but I still don't see how we can expect this to end well, especially Revenged Love. We are in Heroin Addicted territory and the dejavu is strong with this one. I am going to keep watching on the "get it while you can" theory, but I now wish I'd been bootlegging Moon & Dust. Revenged too. I may set aside some time to do so for... reasons... I recommend you do the same.

I Became the Lead in a BL Drama 2 AKA Zoku BL Drama no Shuen ni Narimashita (Japan Gaga) 6 eps - While I am intrigued by the manager side couple, I can't be arsed to add this to the weekly rotation. I may binge once it's done.

The Ex-Morning (Thailand YT) 10 eps - dropped half way through ep 3. I was just angry at it, at GMMTV, at the script, at the characters. That's not healthy for any of us. If rumors are to be believed, I'm feeling great about this life choice.

Season of Love in Shimane AKA Ai no Kisetsu: The Season of Love (Thai) 8 eps - Sequel to Kiseki Chapter 2 which I intensely disliked. I won't watch this.

Mission to the Moon (YT) 12 eps- Watching but I can't keep track. Too short, too many, too YT. I will report at end.

Loy Kaew First Love (Fri YT) 6 eps - Dropped at ep 4. Ended this week, trigger warning on that ending. Not recommended.
