I did this yesterday but I’ve been ill with a bad throat so I went straight to bed after and didn’t post about it…
I DID MY 5K WALK FOR THE NATIONAL AUTISTIC SOCIETY! ♾️
I have only raised £100, which is the bare minimum the NAS accepts, but I’m counting it as a win anyway. As an autistic person, I feel very proud of myself for doing this, regardless of how little I raised, and I’m even more proud of the fact I did it while battling illness and exhaustion this weekend 🙈
I’m not expecting any more donations at this point but I’m including the link anyway, just in case anyone does want to donate and help make the world a better place for autistic people like myself - as little as £5 is amazing!
Support I'm doing my own Spectrum Colour Walk and donate to their page
Happy Autism Acceptance Month, everyone! 🫶🏻♾️
Rest day = Walker Five.
I feel like Five, when they’re not saving the world, would walk around Able in oversized T-shirts. Just because 😌
I hope the sun can stay for a little while longer!
I just finished my first 5k walk :D It was a charity 5k for PCOS awareness. I managed to do it in just over an hour, which was my goal. It was a small, informal group, but it was enjoyable and I feel proud knowing that I did it.
Master and Sam say that they are proud of me for even attempting it, and moreso for having completed it. They were there for me, and I really appreciated their support.
Did a 5K today. Original plan was to jog and beat previous years (2015 & 2014) time. But I decided to walk with my mother in law instead as she had no one to walk with this year. So the pace was different and I didn't beat my time but I still enjoyed it and the extra exercise is always a bonus, plus I got to spend some quality time with the mother in law. I hope to see some results of the extra exercise at the scales this week.
I was sent out to get some last minute Christmas shopping for my parents, and decided to walk home instead of waiting for the bus. It was tiring, and cold 🥶, but I did make a new friend 🐴 She walked right up to me, and let me stroke her. I’m in love 😍
Oh! I decided to sign up for a 5K run (instead of the 10K) for now. I don't want to overextend myself or cause an unnecessary injury. I'm an absolute beginner, so I'm erring on the side of caution. Besides, once I get conditioned for 5K runs, I will work up to doing 10Ks 🙂. I'm still proud of myself and still training daily. The 5K is in mid-April, so that will be enough time🏃🏾♀️.
