A Mod moment, inspired by André Courrèges, Pierre Cardin, Cristobal Balenciaga, Hubert de Givenchy, and Paco Robanne. I'm currently obsessed with this era in fashion. It's so far from anything happening in the ocean of mediocrity we call culture these days. I love highly conceptual art, and the way fashion really went there during this era is exciting in a way you're just not seeing in sub-cultures or the mainstream culture. It's all so conservative. There's no fantasy. Everyone wants to look like an old photograph, which has its place, but it would be cool to see more risk-taking. Like, can a bitch be silly or absurd? Why is everything so serious?
Shout out to Diana Ross and Audrey Hepburn, killing it in these looks.
