did some collaging this weekend… thinking tsunami thoughts 🌊🌊🌊
I will always love the Tsunami arc. I truly believe that's where it all really began.
I just saw that Elevator clip where Eddie turn to look at Buck and says “at least it’s not a Tsunami” and Buck looks at him like 🤨
Everytime I had watched that before I just went “hehe silly dark joke” but do y’all think this is just how Eddie measures things in his life now? Like it doesn’t matter how bad it is at least it’s not the event that could have taken away Chris and Buck.
Do you ever think about what Eddie must have heard about the tsunami from Christopher? “You saved him. That’s how he remembers it,” Eddie says, when Buck tries to tell Eddie that he lost him. Man I wish we could have seen that conversation between Christopher and Eddie. Do you think Chris knew that Buck dove back into the water for him? If he did, Chris may or may not have known, but Eddie would know, hearing it, what Oliver Stark and co. discussed behind the scenes, that it was suicide to do that, but that it’s not a choice when it’s your kid. I have to think Eddie heard that. Not just Chris telling him how Buck sheltered him during the first wave hit, or how he watched Buck save dozens of people, how Buck made a game of a scary day for him. That Buck dove back in the water for him, would have died for him. So that the fact that he didn’t reach Chris was incidental. It’s that he would keep trying, to the point of death, not hypothetically at all.
Buddie Prompt #90
Buck refuses to go to counseling after the tsunami. Eddie finds out about Dr. Wells when they reconnect after the lawsuit (aka the show didn’t take it seriously, so someone should).
I still can't believe Eddie's way of getting Buck out of his bed in season three was to just drop Chris at Buck's loft and be like "You can't hide in your bed all day since Chris is here, have fun at the amusement park!" And then he just... left for work.
He's only known Buck for like a year (at the most) at that point, yet he really took Buck's positive response to "You can have my back anyway" as a promise. He was so sure that Buck wouldn't crawl back into bed after he left and Buck truly did try his best to make sure Chris was safe when the tsunami hit.
Like say what you want about whether or not you think Eddie and Buck are platonic or more than that, but you can't deny that they just clicked and they clicked so fast.
eddie tells buck after the tsunami “i love him enough to never stop trying. and i know you do too.” abt christopher
yeah eddie you love chris like that because he’s your son. you blatantly just said that buck loves chris like a son too.
