I truly believe Nik can short-circuit and get stuck in some random language or languages. Price knows about this, but he doesn't tell Graves outright.
Graves discovers it when he and Price decide it's one of those lazy mornings Nik needs to be utterly smothered in affection before their day can start (and who can blame them?). Price knows Nik. He can see the signs, he can tell the man's brain is slowly melting under the onslaught of kisses, pet names, and kneading hands.
He taps Phillip's shoulder to get his attention away from their captive bedmate. "Cmon, we should get breakfast." Phillip opens his mouth to argue (again, John cannot blame him), but he sees the conspiratorial look John throws him, and picks up quick.
"Yeah, I could eat," he says easily. He starts extracting himself from Nik's hands, like either of them have any interest in moving from here.
John watches the realization hit Nik's muddled brain. It's adorable, really. His dark eyes flick between them, his kiss-bitten mouth turning slowly down into a pout. John practically holds his breath, hoping...
Today, it's Polish, apparently.
John doesn't speak Polish, but the pleading, whining tone of whatever Nik asks of them is easily translated.
"Aw, you don't want us to leave, luv?"
Another plaintive response in Polish. Phillip is staring with an awed kind of grin. "That's so cool."
Nik grumbles and rubs his face. Finally, he manages Russian, something John can actually grasp. "You are cruel and evil and beautiful men."
Price discovering this and deciding it's the funniest thing ever. He will make Nik short circuit, all to get the man so flustered he can't focus. Today it's Polish, tomorrow it might be German. Maybe French. Maybe bits of a language he isn't fluent in. And now Graves is in on it, also seeing the joy of making Nik get stuck in a language that isn't his usual two.
