THE WITCHES’ ROAD WAS HIS WANDAVISION?!
Ok so here comes my unsolicited opinion on the finale
Contains Agatha All Along 1x08 and 1x09 spoilers
AGATHA ALL ALONG SNEAK PEEK
Guys, I'm not gonna make it
Just watched the finale and well, just like Wandavision I'm disappointed of this finale too. It was so anticlimactic. A lot of good buildups to nothing satisfying. And just to be clear I didn't expect anything specific from the series. I intentionally didn't read any theories or watch any promo clips beforehand because I wanted to have the first hand experience with zero expectations. That being said there were a lot of scenes I liked, but for me the title of best marvel series finale remains with Loki S2.

Part 1:
half a second in and i can tell you that’s my girl Alice lying on the ground. i would recognize her supine silhouette ANYWHERE
“that’s it? that’s all the… all the time i get?” cheers bitch, i’ll drink to that 🍻
the idea that you have to wait for Something To Happen in order to start living your life, only to be told that you have already Accomplished Something is so achingly bittersweet. something about waiting to grow into who you think you’re supposed to be only to find out that you are the person you are actively making yourself be, and sometimes that’s good but good does not equate to enough and enough does not equate to fulfilling and fulfilling does not equate to satisfying
i think you can only mourn yourself if you love yourself
the camera angles and coloring are great but please for fucks sake give us some better lighting
is Agatha crying because of losing Lilia in addition to Alice? or narrowly escaping death again? or the representation of what the Salem Seven mean to her? actually never mind, she has more than enough reason to cry
Rio cutting through the backdrop and leaving the set is a BALLER fucking move (and the 4th wall breaking of it all... it means something...)
“don’t steal her struggle” is so funny and the delivery was perfect
“no, Billy. sometimes boys die” shut the fuck up right now i am not okay with any of this
“you’re not bad” “neither are you” I SAID SHUT THE FUCK UP 😭
yes i am really emotional about the Billy/Agatha/Rio confrontation but what do you mean Billy gets into a car and drives away??? he flew to her house but he’s driving back? is his boyfriend letting him borrow his car? who's car is it? this is hilarious what the fuck is going on with the driving situation here
holy shit. does the Witches’ Road not exist? did Billy… make it up? (in a creation/manifestation sense, not in a lying sense)
BILLY CREATED THE ROAD!!!!!!
Part 2:
immediately i am so sad about Agatha running off to give birth alone in the woods because it means she has no one to comfort or support her. i am also assuming that this is an unwanted pregnancy because i cannot imagine Agatha having sex with a man without taking preventative measures against conception, especially considering she is keenly aware of how society treats women + children born out of wedlock
am i wrong or does Rio look significantly younger as she appears to Agatha here? almost childlike
somehow Agatha must be killing witches to keep Nicky alive. maybe to give their souls over to Rio to tide her over so she won’t take Nicky? maybe since Nicky was made “from scratch” and i indulge the whole Mephisto theory for a moment, it’s to keep her juiced up enough to keep Mephisto away from them? (assuming he had a hand in her pregnancy)
Nicky made up the song about the Road… that’s why Agatha said only two witches make it to the end 🥺
“i want more time!” okay so this series (plus Wandavision) has had the theme of wanting more time with the ones we love, wanting more time to be the versions of ourselves we want to be, wanting more time before it runs out or wanting more time from a time that we’ve lost. it’s about knowing when to fight and knowing when to accept and what happens if you don’t know how to do either. excuse me while i sob the water all out of my body
i love Agatha’s brand of sneakily comforting Billy by disguising it as an insult because she can’t bear to be sweet and caring the way she used to be before Nicky died
Jen is alive specifically because of Billy… AND SO IS TOMMY!!!
oh wow, i can’t believe Sharon, Alice, and Lilia are really dead. it just seems horribly unfair
Billy trying to banish Agatha but ending up with her as his ghost-familiar is quite the turn. this boy just keeps collecting mother figures like they're funko pops huh. well I’m glad they’re going to be looking for Tommy together
Final thoughts:
What if the Jac saga actually goes
Part 1: WandaVision.
Part 2: Agatha All Along.
Part 3: Coven of Chaos.
Part 4: The Children’s Crusade.
The way Nicky’s death felt so similar to Joyce Summers—because it was the same idea. That the true heartbreak is it wasn’t a monster, something huge she could fight—it’s just the simple tragedy of everyday life.
“No, Billy. Sometimes, boys die.”
The fact that she left more story to tell on purpose, but they’ve devised the chapters. That Agatha and Rio living together in a cottage—literal cottage core lesbian witches—and Rio being Nicky’s “father” is among those chapters she’s doing press anywhere and everywhere to be allowed to tell next.
And the fact that, again, Jac was explicitly writing towards people who have had the experience of terminally ill, disabled, or chronically sick kids. She’s written another mother for whom her unlikely, disabled kid was the honor and love of her life—two more, with Rio, to the point of her bending the laws of nature around them.
I’m so emotional. I love her so much.
Wanda Maximoff, they could never make me hate you.
Vision was her partner who became a man instead of being born one and she saw and fell in love with him for who he was, then found his corpse was being desecrated and dehumanized by the government to the point he wasn’t even classed as a “man” with “next of kin” anymore, but an “it” for them to study.
But this isn’t about a trans man having his identity violently erased after his death and his queer partner fighting back.
Her dying act was to send Agatha whatever pieces she could to tell her what happened and save her sons, even if no one else believed they were real—because even if she didn’t know why, her always-sharp intuition felt Agatha would believe it. A rival, maybe an enemy, an “ex…” something. But intuitively, though she couldn’t have known: Another mother. Who might understand.
I burned all the Darkholds at Wundagore; I was crushed in the process; I’m gone—maybe not dead but gone; there was a related accident—a car crash in Eastview as the Hex went down—and that’s the other ‘W. Maximoff’ near-death. And the final image, the final desperate call I’m telling you, is a patch of golden dandelions on my old yard. Gold and green. Nicky’s promise, Billy’s wish—Tommy’s life. He’s still out there and here’s how you find him. Please. Find him.
But this isn’t about queer moms of disabled kids banding together when no one else believes in their family’s rights to survive. And the MCU expects me to think SHE is the bad guy.
Marvel Zombies & Multiverse of Madness, f*** all the way off.
