My ramblings/thoughts on how it's going playing final fantasy XV: chapter 9. . . .

MY WIFE! They killed my Wife! HE. KILLED. MY WIFE! so I uh before continuing with the story I did the hunts that I quarried last time. I was going to the location of one of these when a guard stoped me and asked if I was there about some Haunting, naturally I had to go see what he was talking about. I found some element pods which was concerning. Then we went further down and a naked ghostly woman came out of a paining snatching at us. . . we continued on with trying to get to the hunt location I got there waited for night killed the Disgusting eyeball daemon thing! went back to Wesk, then I Noticed the map looked a bit different and went in the direction of another hunt I thought I wasn’t able to do. plow and be-hold there’s another level of sky gondolas! What the heck! killed the lil Tonberries went back and rested. .

Anyway moving on! - what the heck was that!?

(we had to have a whole negotiation with the women in Altissia that was fun, I made sure to have Noctis wear his suit for the occasion) Luna was talking to Camelia and I honestly thought this lady was pure evil in that moment. I was then jump scared by some empire soldiers barging in to the room! Then we have Noctis standing in the crowd listening to Luna’s speech. speaking of which nice speech Luna! Good job sweetie🩵

I oddly enjoyed running through the hallways fighting enemy soldiers. also Prompto sweeping in with whatever that thing was was awesome! The boy just has good timing. . . And knows how to use Nifilheim tech (‘wonder why~’)

Leviathan:

I had a few thoughts Wall Luna was talking to Leviathan, one of which being why does it have to sound like that it hurts my ears, the other was Dang Leviathan’s a’ Bitch~ like all we had to do was fight the other guy You on the other hand a whole other pain in the butt!

Leviathan was throwing a fit about helping us, she really hates man kind, for all the people of Altissia worship Leviathan their a reeeal pain. and think of Noctis and the kings as some kind of insufferable roach. Leviathan: This wretched pile of bone and flesh, ignorant of that which governs All, comes to requisition the might of a goddess? I get yur a god and all but come on. And she may be Worse in Japanese! Some gods are helpful and want to help the people of the world You however Leviathan. . . Are a cranky fish.

The fight with Leviathan was actually fun despite being as simple as ever it reminded me of the fight with chaos in Sonic Adventure. Speaking of which-

They just have a certain look to them. water creatures alway look like that I guess. Ardyn. . . (knowone/nothing gets me swearing as much as Ardyn. . . I apologize in advance)

This purple haired sleazeball son of a grape flavored oil spill bitch! he just Saunters on up asking about the ring and decideds ‘oh I don’t need it~’ AND THEN STABS HER! all wall Noctis lays there and watches! And The Look! on his face seeing her! Seeing her gwt stabbed by that man! NYAAAAAA! he looks so shocked and broken. . . I see a lot of people say they felt nothing during this scene, because there wasn’t enough of Luna in the game to actually feel for her and Noct, i do agree she should have been around more- however I recently watched kingsglaive and have read about Luna in general and know things. I feel bad for her a Noctis. . . It hurts to watch and I winced when I watched Ardyn stab her. I had know idea it was HIM who did it. (who took my wife from me!!! Feral noises*)

Even if you don’t like her Noctis cares about Luna and that alone should make the scene emotional. The two of them really cared for one another. it’s sad and sweet. (screw prophecy’s man) (he looks awfully good in this gif. . .)

Ardyn: Oh, Prince! Your bride awaits!. Purple Bitch. . . what is wrong with him. . . Why are you like this. Why. Luna: I will pass the ring. . . to the rightful King. . . When the prophecy is fulfilled, all in thrall to darkness shall know peace. Luna held his hand/arm in the moment and used her oracle magic or something. As much as I choose to despise Ardyn something about his face here made me fell something for him, it’s a type of curiosity with something else woven in. there was some kind of emotion there on his face and I can’t quite place what it was, almost like a realization and despise- he got REALLY (and I don’t like using this word) Pissed afterwords.

he only reacted when Luna said the second bit- ‘When the prophecy is fulfilled, all in thrall to darkness shall know peace’ I know Ardyn is the darkness and he’s plagued by something from his past from a malania ago, guess thats what she was healing there. . . And so he got mad and hit her. There’s more I’d want to day here but won’t (I don’t like the fact that this bit made me feel things for Ardyn despite not knowing everything. . . Im supposed to hate him ok)

I noticed the blood on Lunas dress was oddly dark almost purple actually which is odd because it’s fresh blood on a white dress.

we then get to fight which again was fun! (I would like a better gif of them but tumblr said no with it’s selection)

Noctis and Luna: stab me in the heart why don’t you.

Luna painfully makes her way over to Noctis and holds him prying. then the titan comes and I guess takes care of the leviathan. we’re taken to a beautiful meadow of Sylleblossom PAIN In sues! seriously this scene was so beautiful, I wish we could visit an area with these flowers! It reminds me of the Lunar Tears in NieR:Automata. that place was SO PRETTY. (whats with them in having pretty meaningful flowers in their games). the fact that this scene shows them as Kids! When things were more simple and the last time they were together. The way Noctis desperately reached out for her looking like he was on the verge of tears and how it sounded like he was trying to say ‘No’ then he's given the ring, it floats Im front of him and he seems to cry, he looks so sad. . . poor Noctis. I wanna act-knowledge that Noctis may have died here. . . two ways to see it- He despite not being wounded seemed to have been in a not so nice condition, probably from fighting gods~ and using the the royal arms, that in’n of itself takes a toll on him but using that many after already being injured, even with the help of whatever the heck Luna did there, I’m not surprised he was asleep for days. the other thing- I think Noctis actually did die here. Luna uses her last bit of powers (and life) to heal him so he can full-fill his duty as the chosen king. Think of it as a Life for a Life. Lunafreya: Blessed Stars of light and life. . . they’re both literally sinking in to water here. As Luna says goodbye to him she sinks, the scene fils with water Luna falls, her soul leaving the world wall Noctis floats, forcibly going back to the land of the living. despite him swimming back down, wanting just one more moment with her, wanting it to last just a bit longer, he’s not ment to die here. so he floats because he still has a job to do, a prophecy to fulfill wall Luna’s has been done. another reason I think Noctis died is the dialogue here-

Luna: So, you found your way here Noctis: And you found me Luna: A chance to see you once more. . . Who would have thought? Noctis: What do you mean? Why wouldn’t you see me? Luna: Because my prayers have been answered. My calling fulfilled

Lunas first line makes it sound like Noctis wasn’t ment to be there. . . Noctis question and her answer, it’s because she saved you she uses her abilities to save you, and you still made it here. maybe this is extremely obvious Nocts died or he really didn’t and Im just seeing things but I thought that was interesting. there’s nothing I want more right now then to see these two holding each other in peace.

After Altissia:

Noctis wakes up in bed and Ignis greets him. . . Ignis who before standing up pats the arms of his chair! . Despite knowing Iggy lost his eyesight here it still got a reaction out of me seeing him turn around and seeing his scares and darkened glasses. Conveniently before we continued with the story there was a comment about what’d happen if his glasses broke he says he’d get his backups of course. . . Doesn’t Ardyn Step on Iggys glasses. . . Yeah. . .

Ignis: I’ll tell the others. . . though it may take a bit. . . . I wanna cry. He- he says that! And the care in Noctis’ eyes when he sees Iggys been hurt! I don’t want this! Why did we have to hurt Ignis! Why! he likes seeing the faces of the people he cooks for! He likes his world crystal clear! with no Ambiguity! this chapter HURT! and it STILL wasn’t over! We still had the train scene! The train scene: Before we get in to the yelling match-

Ignis~ he’s just sitting there, and Prompto’s there with him lookin down, prom looks so sad! It’s not right to see a Prompto looking so Sad! (looks at Proms dlc. . . NOoOoo!)

Prompto: You’re sure you’re up to that? Ignis: The wounds have mended. Eyesight’s a matter of time.

Nyaaaaa!~ Iggy! Prompto’s so worried for him~

Gladio. . . do you truly think it’s a good idea to start a conversation by saying ‘The hell’s wrong with you?’ Anyway. I actually don’t hate Gladio’s after this scene, and I doubt it’s gonna change when I continue forward. yes he went a bit far and I will probably Judge him later on in game but I see why he lost it at Noctis. Gladio’s probably been dealing with his own grief over his father’s death, he didn’t know if his sister was ok, and there’s also the feelings he had about what happened with Ravus. yes he went to Gilgamesh and ‘proved himself’ but the left over emotions are probably still there, this also go’s all the way back to the titan at the crater, Gladio has a lot he has to deal with, keeping everyone safe and being a voice of reason when Noctis can’t think. Basically what I’m trying and failing at saying is- Gladio’s dealing with a lot it’s not wonder he finally snapped. They don’t have time to deal with all of this. Noctis gets to complain, mope around and grief only thinking bout himself, ignoring the fact that some people (Ignis) have it worse at the moment. he can’t see and is coping with the fact, all while he acts like he’s fine. Noctis had already lost his father and his kingdom and now his fiancé. of course he's gonna be upset losing two people you care deeply about is gonna take time, time that they don’t have. I think during most of this trip even before everything got to where it is now Noctis has been thinking about the prophecy and has been both disassociating and ignoring it, he's not ready to grow up and be king and he sure isn’t ready to do all that needs to be done here. he also doesn’t seem all that concerned for Iggy I feel like this is because he’s stuck in his head at the moment and he does care very deeply probably feeling guilty even.

It makes since on both sides. They’re both high on emotions and upset with everything. Gladio’s thinking about Ignis specifically and continuing on. Noctis is stuck where he is and having a hard time dealing with it all. (this isn’t even touching on the fact that Luna died so he could have that ring)

(Gladio cares so much for Iggy, and the fact at Noct is down right ignoring his needs)

theres so many details I left out where but I simply to not of the power to explain it all.

Dialogue:

Gladio: You need to grow up and get over it. Noctis: I am over it. I’m here, aren’t I!?I am! Gladio: Maybe when you’re not too busy moping, you can look around and give a shit about someone worse off than you. he might be here but he’s stuck in his head. Moping and paying no mind to Ignis condition.

Glaido: She gave her life so you could do your duty, not so you could sit around feeling sorry for yourself. Noctis:You don’t think I know that!? Gladio: You don’t! Ignis took one for you too, and for what!? Noctis feels guilty. Glaido cares about Iggy. It is not Ignis speaks up telling Gladio to stop.

Gladio: You think you’re a king, but you’re a coward. Noctis: Shut up! Prompto: Don’t do this—!

I do not think calling Noct a coward was the best decision- also man just SHOVES poor Prompto out of the way! Like he was nothing! poor Prompto is just trying to de-escalate the situation and get them to stop but gets a hand slapped on his face and pushed away. seriously Gladdy i’m more upset about this then anything else here. Prom did nothing wrong. Noctis: I get it, alright!? I get it! hats off to Nocts voice actor here, I could feel his pain amd desperation and everything that hurt.

afterwords:

we’re given free will to walk about the train. It was sad seeing Iggy sitting there and with Prompto. there was a kid who we had apparently scared. Tons of other stuff and such. As you’re going through you also run in to Gladio, who brushes past you and sitting in his own little spot looking all upset. . . I wonder were he was before that? Was he just walking around? At the bar in the canteen? Probably the first one but still.

once we’re off the train I immediately started looking around collecting every time there was. I also talked to everyone ans listed to everything. Prompto is leaning against the railing and he looks sad, theres a certain energy that he doesn’t have anymore. He tells Noct that Gladio and Ignis are in the dinner. when you go there you can find them both sitting there not eating or anything Ignis is looking around and staring downward, wall Gladio seems uncomfortable and still upset like before. I did the quest where you find the lost chocobos which was adorable theres just baby chocobos everywhere! A nice refresher! however it had gotten very dark by this point, so I went to rest in the train and the game glitched. instead of taking me to the next screen it stayed on a mostly black one. I could not do anything. So I had to go out and back in not knowing when the last auto save was, it took me back to the very beginning of the chapter~ so that wasn’t nice. also the first time we stopped at the station I did not get a phone call from Cor, I guess it was a bit more glitched then I realized.

from my knowledge it’s all downhill from here and it just keeps getting worse! How Can It Get Worse!

I know we throw Prompto off the train due to Ardyns mind Fuckie-wuckies, so thats not nice to think about

A lot happened that night and oh boy am I still trying to figure it out. I can’t believe I’m this fare in to the game. I have know idea whats gonna happen. . .
