Hi everyone! 👋

This week is Just A Card and Handmade Hours online Christmas fair!

I'm taking part and, since I'm sort of new-again to Tumblr, I thought I'd introduce myself over here too.

I'm Abi, I'm 34 and have been freelancing for a few years now.

After chronic health problems meant I had to leave my previous job as a TA working with disabled children I decided to take a chance and pursue my passion for illustration and I've had a lot of fun designing my own products and working with commercial and private clients to create colourful illustrations!

And it's so cool as a digital artist to see your art become real life objects! 🤩

A lot of my designs are intended to empower and uplift fellow members of the disabled community. 🙌

Line-work for a new sticker design to add to my Kickstarter campaign. I wanted an extra design for the friends and family of those with Chronic illness to show their solidarity.

A selection from my chronic migraine series, as I’ve never put them in one post before.

I’m proud of this series and am continuing to work on more illustrations inspired by chronic illness and mental health issues.

I’d like to print some of these, and maybe hand embellish with gold. Would anyone be interested?

All my East Anglian folk lore inspired illustrations in one handy post. I’d like to do more of these at some point to. In particular I was thinking of doing a small series of witchcraft ones in the same format as the frogman’s ritual (the yellow one above), so if anyone knows any funny local ‘spells’ I could illustrate then let me know! :)

Abi Stevens is a friend, a dedicated educator and most of all a brilliant and talented artist based in Cambridge, UK.

She is also a well-minded person that is trying not to leave a dark footprint on our beautiful planet, she cares about the enviroment and the animals.

She decided to be vegetarian many years ago at the age of 11, when not many people were talking about animal rights or a plant-based diet.  Today she is a vegan, and after so many years she never looked back.

Her work doesn’t really touch the subject of animal abuse, exploitation or veganism as it is, but animals are a constant element on her work.

Abi’s work is truly exceptional and covers a wide range of areas but she is particularly interested in book cover illustration.

Abi also does travel illustration.  Here is a example of her work inspired by a trip to Kyoto, Japan. The drawing puts together various architectural elements, objects and animals seen in Kyoto, within the shape of a shrine’s lantern.

Abi’s work is colourful and carefully detailed. She finds her inspiration from mythology, fantasy, science, history and her own personal experiences.
