Alive.
You will never hear a OBGYN tell a pregnant person that their “baby” is alive. They will tell them things like its Heart is beating, you are x weeks along, the “baby” is now viable or it safe to have the baby in a regular hospital.
If a medical professional doesn’t say it’s alive why is this pro-lifers main argument.
Abortion
Think about it like this, pregnancy is a health condition, there are two cures pregnancy with eventual birth or abortion. The treatment of pregnancy and birth is dangerous and has a higher mortality rate then the other treatment, although at the and of treatment you get a reward. Now that reward is pretty good right? Unless you hate that reward it’s not what you want it is unexpected the reward will you drain you of money you don’t have. Now treatment 2 of abortion seems pretty good, its safer more affordable and you don’t want the reward, so you think why put your self in so much risk. So if you want the reward treatment 1 is the one for you. If you don’t want the reward why go through treatment 1 just to give up the reward, when there is a safer more affordable option that you prefer.
Heartbeat Bill
I have just read the actual heartbeat bill that Alabama was trying to pass. I realised that it only allowed for abortion if the pregnant person’s life is in danger. What I didn’t realise was that it only includes physical disorder, physical illness or physical injury. It does not include emotional or psychological conditions. I can’t believe that this was even considered. Emotional and psychological conditions are real and need to be accepted.
This blog supports people suffering from emotional and psychological conditions. This blog supports abortion for any reason.
Abortion
I will only stop advocating for abortion access and no restrictions on abortion when there are artificial wombs and the pregnancy can be transferred to the artificial womb. Even then abortion should be an option. As this day has not come I will not stop fighting for the right to unrestricted abortion.
Abortion and Bioethics.
Let’s look at abortion in relation to bioethics.
1,Autonomy- The pregnant person chooses to have the procedure and the procedure protects the persons autonomy. 2,Beneficence- The procedure promotes well being and saves lives.3,Non-maleficence - The procedure doesn’t harm the women beyond what is an acceptable risk. 4,Justice- The procedure is given to everybody alike. 5,Veracity- The procedure comes with mandatory counselling and consent forms.
Number 3 is the one where there is most contention because the foetus is “killed”.
Now lets look at forced pregnancy in relation to bioethics.
1,Autonomy- The pregnant person was stripped of choice. The foetus can even make these decisions.2,Beneficence - The pregnancy might result in a baby. The mother is tortured for 9 months and 18 years if keeping the child. 3,Non-maleficence - The foetus is kept alive. The mother is forced to endure a dangerous health condition and birth. 4,Justice- Everyone would have to keep their foetus. Some would do this willingly some not. 5,Veracity - I assume that they would provide you with correct information. Crisis pregnancy centres provide misinformation.
Which one seems better to you?
