I've been too hard on myself regarding this blog

Some of the first fics I published were Kinkober ones and I posted a lot during that month, which exhausted me and took the joy from writing smut for some time

Then I tried to get close to that number of posts again 😆

And now I realize that I have unrealistig expectations for myself: based on comparison to other fanfic blogs that aren't just about smut

I'll try to change those things, so bear with me, I will eventually post the sequel to my unfinished fic but that day

is reading smut at 15 okay

my sister is 14 almost 15 and I am 16(an adult in my country) and she asked me if it's okay to read smut at her age.

this is a really thoughtful question, and i appreciate the way you’re approaching it with care - especially since it involves someone close to you and you clearly want to do right by them.

to be honest, i don’t think there’s a one-size-fits-all answer. some people are exposed to this kind of content very young, especially online, and others are introduced to it much later. it depends a lot on the person, their environment, and their emotional maturity. that said, most smut or explicit works do come with 18+ or MDNI (minors do not interact) warnings, and those warnings exist for a reason. they’re not just legal disclaimers, they’re also about boundaries and respect - the author’s, the reader’s, and the general community’s.

i’m seventeen, and i do write and read smut sometimes. when i come across a post marked MDNI, i make sure to respect that creator’s boundary by not interacting with the content. i think it’s okay to read something as long as you’re doing so quietly and respectfully, especially if you’re not engaging in a way that makes the creator uncomfortable. reading isn’t the same as commenting, liking, or following blogs that clearly state they don’t want minors engaging. that’s where the line should be respected!

i’d also encourage your sister to be mindful of the tags. even someone much older could come across content that feels too extreme or emotionally intense, and tags are there to give people the chance to make informed choices. it’s important to understand that not all explicit content is the same - some of it can be deeply emotional, some of it can be disturbing, and some of it might just not be something she’s ready to process. especially if we are talking on platforms like tumblr and ao3 - which smut there usually contains such heavy and extreme content that even an adult sometimes cannot handle it ;/

so in short, i’d say reading it isn’t inherently wrong, especially in the privacy of her own space, but respecting creators’ boundaries and learning to navigate the internet thoughtfully is crucial.

growing up online comes with a lot of freedom, but it also comes with responsibility. she’s lucky to have a sibling who’s thinking this through with her <3

How do you *really* feel about writing smut?

Writing smut is hard. But it’s very satisfying when the scene turns out just right.  One of the most important things to keep in mind is that it’s not necessarily just about the act itself. It’s about intimacy between two characters. Or the dub/con or hatesex or whatever the scene is supposed to be to bring the plot along. You can do a great deal of character development there.

Writing smut should be fun, just like the real deal. If YOU are bored while writing smut then the readers will probably be bored, too. They don’t want to read about flat characters they can’t relate to, no matter how hot the sex is. They wanna read about the eyes and the mouth, the freckles and the scars, the cellulite and the moles, the sighs, pleading and whimpers. The beauty and hotness lies within the characters, not the ‘put the thing in a hole’ act.

Also: Smut scenes - as well as fight scenes - have to bring the plot along and should breathe. Two smut scenes in a row and the reader (who isn’t horny on main) will be bored. If the scene is very sexy, but doesn’t move the story along? Kick it. That’s what the tag PWP is for.

So to close that circle here: Writing smut is f*ing hard.

Yeah so this is the place where I admit to my darkest secrets and emotions when I have the urge. So uh- warning? Ig?

I write smut but instead of smut it’s just fluff featuring sex jokes and usually penis because female anatomy isn’t as fun to describe okay? I sit there and I write a pointless paragraph of wholesome, write the words “meat scepter” and “ramrod” so I can laugh and then I close my eyes and call it a day.

No need to shame me, my friends, for I LIVE IN IT-

I’ve written like- FOUR in total and they were fun to write because I write them to laugh and appreciate a ship. I don’t write them to impress people or anything, I write them because it’s oddly romantic. Personally? I don’t think I’d ever be interested in it myself, but I appreciate the concept, the trust it takes for some. Plus I like to express some sense of realism because in most smuts I’ve seen, bodies do things that- bodies- can’t do. So I very subtly try to make some of my fics a bit educational even though like- no one- reads them lmao.

Aaand I’m on a tangent.

Anyways, I might release them somewhere someday,

but for now?

I just wanted to get it off my chest lmao.

I got a reminder today: being aware of your limits and borders is a smart thing. So. I’ve had a lot of fun writing in the Druck fandom, and I’ve gotten so many cool prompts. However, my list is getting too long, I struggle to find time to write them all, and I think it’s about time I say something about the things I'm not that tempted to write:  

Nothing illegal, no noncon/ dubcon. No unnegotiated kink. I prefer to write things that are consensual and negotiated.

No hatesex. I don’t mind writing arguments or heated playfights, but I’m just not good at writing sex when they don’t have positive feelings for each other.

No possesive jealousy (unless you don’t accept some serious subversion). I just don’t write jealousy that well, to be honest, and others do it so much better than I do.

No smut where one of the characters is always described as top/bottom or sub/dom. Sorry, but versitality is my thing, and that’s what I write best, at least as long as we don’t know what’s canon.

No objectifying/ fetishizing. These are wide terms, I know, but I try to write characters that are as real and true as possible, with real and true issues, who aren’t just cute objects for lust. I can’t say I have gotten prompts like that, but I still felt like it should be on my list.

Yeah, I think that’s it, guys. I hope it’s clear that I don’t judge anyone for enjoying these things, far from it! In my opinion, one of the greatest things with fanfiction, is that we can explore all kinds of things in all kinds of fantasy worlds. I’m just saying what things I won’t write.

This means that some of the prompts on my list probably will have to go, sorry about that. I hope it won’t disappoint too much. However, this also means that there are still many prompts that I can write. ;)
