Acoda: Hey, what time is it?
Rhymos: I don’t know, pass me that trombone and I’ll find out.
Rhymos: [Blasts the trombone]
Theremin: Who the FUCK is playing the trombone at TWO IN THE FUCKING MORNING?
Rhymos: It’s two A.M.
Hollow Tides
Lanterns held shallow flames, teetering on their hooks at every edge of the ship. White foam splashed over the sides of wood planks held together with metal bearings. It was so old-timey, but the hands had been sold a tale of history reenactment: an intensely period voyage to last the expanse of months on end, or at least until the next stop at shore. It was this way that Yongguk was able to live out his calling without being questioned in depth. Sure there were the occasional few who didn’t understand what it meant to be a deck hand, that needed constant guidance on what their roles were to be played, but he didn’t mind much. With such a small space to occupy, he’d compelled most of the ship’s population to meet his needs.
Pulling himself up over the sides of the ship, dark eyes were met with the shaky fire held within the lantern he’d left when he’d gone for a swim. The salty water clinging to the linen of his trousers and the black strands of his hair that were overgrown by this point. He hadn’t bothered to cut it in months. Yanking the lantern off the possessive hook, Yongguk held out a hand to see the treasure he’d pulled up off the ocean floor. Just a cracked old stone, but it was well carved and gave him pleasure to unearth. Removing himself from the monotony of humanity had rewarded him in some small way, and with a sly grin at his accomplishment he made his way to find a drink.

Rhymos: Hey Acoda, do you know my blood type?
Acoda: Yes, it’s B positive.
Rhymos: Ok, I guessed wrong. Hey Nurse!
Orchestius: You've got to apologize.
Acoda: Why?
Orchestius: Because it's the mature and adult thing to do.
Acoda: ... How does that affect me?
Dak: You know, like nya!
Rest: What?
Dak: nya!
Rest: Stop
[Later]
Dak: Like, nyah!
Acoda: nyah!
Orchestius, crying: I don't know what this means
Acoda: You're the strongest person I know.
Rest: I believe that's the nicest thing you've ever said to me.
Acoda: Well, don't get used to it. You're still very strange and annoying.
Acoda: Synonyms are weird, because if someone invites you to their cottage in the forest, that’s just nice and cozy. But if someone invites you to a cabin in the woods, you’re going to die.
Theremin: My favorite is butt dial vs. booty call.
Rhymos: It’s called connotation.
Thaddeus: Also “forgive me, father, for I have sinned,” vs “sorry daddy, I’ve been naughty.”
Orchestius: Great news! Language is now cancelled.
