James enters their living room where he finds Lily, doing her best not to weep, sitting on the couch. The sight breaks his heart almost as much as what he has to tell her next.

James looks down at the parchment in his hand, hoping he can find the courage to say the next few words there.

James’ eyes look at her painfully. Even he got to attend his own parent’s funeral, but Lily...his poor Lily...she lost her parents right when they went into hiding. 

Harry, her baby. She reprimands herself for being so selfish and forgetting about his safety. How could she?

James: But Marlene, I know that she’d want you to-

James is silent for a moment, wracking his brain, trying to figure out what to do. 

He looks up at her with an idea, it’s pitiful but at least...at least they can be there in a way. 

*HALF AN HOUR LATER*

Lily watches her best friend’s funeral from James’ mirror as Sirius tries to hold it steady, though his shaking hands do little to give Lily a good view. But all she can focus on is the voice of Albus Dumbledore who is giving Marlene’s eulogy. 

Albus Dumbledore: Marlene McKinnon, a woman who possessed a fire that could never be snuffed out. Like a true phoenix, while she may have been taken from us, her legacy will shine as bright as her. May her memory be a blessing to all that had the pleasure of knowing her...

Lily wanted to say goodbye, but deep down she knew she never could.

I've not really made gifs using my phone. How does that work? Is it difficult?? Does phone made apps look aait on desktop??

Imgflip on mobile is pretty easy, it’s almost the exact same layout as on desktop. I prefer desktop because it’s also easier with tumblr but I think it’s pretty good!

Okey, I don't know @actinganimagus, but I obviously love his rps. If @jenlizrose is canon Lily, @actinganimagus is definitely canon James. His pirate tread the other week was killer and he's really talented and funny.
