Sometimes I forget I’m not a horrible person if my brain simply refuses to work in another way than the way it can manage to work
Ever had the problem that certain sounds are driving you out of your skin? I have, those sounds typically make me want to flee or cover my ears and I just found out IT HAS A NAME!
It might be mysophonia, a condotion first described 20 years ago which seems connected to ADHD.
(From Wikipedia) Misophonia, meaning "hatred of sound", is a proposed neurological condition in which certain sounds trigger emotional or physiological responses others may deem unreasonable. Reactions to trigger sounds range from anger and annoyance to activating a fight-or-flight response.
Sometimes I wonder if I’ll ever manage to get a job and have a reasonably peaceful life despite my ADHD brain.

You forgot to check your schedule, now a friend or guest is coming over.
They are ringing the doorbell, you‘re dirty, snelly, not dressed appropriately and your flat looks like it was strip-searched?
Years of experience have taught you? you’re basically Barry Gordon on Adrenalin, jump started by a truck battery:
Second 1-10: wear a hat, use deoderant, throw on a hoodie
Seconds 11-20, stuff mess under furniture, open windows
Seconds 21-30, go and greet ur friend. Act like youve been expecting them!

I’m on my way to a governement job search counselor who‘s probably gonna yell at me for forgetting 1 out of a dozen appointments last month. Saying that I‘m rally doing my best is just often not believable to neurotypicals because of my ADHD.
