1. Through the Bright Works Project, SCP wiki staff are removing the vast majority of works created by AdminBright (aka Dr. Bright, aka TheDuckman). SCP-029, -050, -161, -528, -573, -693, -721, -834, -894, -1337, -1590, -1777, -2976, -100-J, and -5555-J have already been deleted from the wiki. Those numbers will eventually be made available to be recycled by other authors writing replacement works. Since the next Main Series episode on the docket, SCP-161, was among those removed, we will skip it for now.

To learn more about why this is happening in the first place, I'd recommend this video by SCP author and former wiki staff member Dr. Cimmerian (CW: Discussion about irl sexual harassment involving minors).

Are people still allowed to use the bright character in their artworks, cosplays and drawings, because alot of my friends see dr bright as a character as their comfort and have fictives of dr bright and i didn`t want to see thrm hurt

I’m so sorry if I’m hella defensive, as mentioned in the doc may and June are my mourning period. The 24th marked the 4th anniversary of my dad’s passing so I’m kind of checked out and am just frustrated at how long this silly, messy “drama” revolving me has been dragging out. At first it was confusing, then funny as fuck due to piss poor execution, now I’m just tired.

It’s a free internet, I can’t stop people from posting shit with bright in it. I will say 2 things tho:

1. Don’t expect me to be your friend or want to be near you, same with the other victims in the fandom. Seriously, I’ve been blocking people who’ve made fanart of bright post the release of my doc. The information is right there, by beating the dead horse that is this pedophile’s possession fetish character you’re kind of saying you don’t care about our hurt, you don’t care that this man used this creation to brand me. Sorry not sorry. My thoughts on bright hyperfixators from earlier today because I’m lazy and trying to get my skincare done while I write this:

2. By not letting bright die you’re doing exactly what Peters wants you to do. To the letter. Do with this info what you will. You’re respecting the wishes of a creep by letting their legacy live on.

AS FOR ALTERS, y’all are a special case, you cannot voluntarily get rid of your alter. I get that and I don’t hold it against y’all at all. I never have. If anything I’m reeeeeally worried about you guys given the whole possession fetish aspect of this situation as I’ve said in a previous ask. Be careful out there. Iunno if Mitch will ever try to weasel their way back into scp spaces but keep an eye out. Also, if you’re in the Michigan area and partake in cons and faires be even more vigilant. Y’all know what this fucker looks like. I know someone who got into a grooming situation with them upon meeting them at one of these events. So far I’ve been able to get them banned from two things but I still have a list of orgs and cons and faires to contact with the evidence to make sure this bastard isn’t able to take advantage of the ignorance of people like my friend.

You probably haven’t heard yet, but yesterday Dr. Bright was permanently banned from the SCP Wiki for being a sexual predator. In short, the anti-harassment team were sent a huge collection of evidence and testimonies from over the years and after some debate finally decided that it was worth it to ban him. It should have been done years ago, but still, it’s worth celebrating.

I can't believe I had to go all the way to KiwiFarms just to find a screenshot proving this but yeah, looks to be the case. I do think staff could make this a little easier to find or make some kind of actual announcement about it, considering I wouldn't put it past Bright to keep trying to coast on their "fame" to draw in more minors, but I doubt that'll happen. staff know they were complicit for years, and they likely don't want the backlash. for what it's worth, everyone: lots of staff knew Bright is a paedophile; several joined or encouraged them; nobody did anything about it for years, and when victims spoke out they were harassed, shamed, called liars, and banned, before becoming the butt of jokes in staff circles. all SCP staff are bastards, etc.

I've known this report was in the works for a while, but I am pleasantly surprised that it was completed and used. I myself have witnessed/heard of Bright being inappropriate to people as young as 14, to the point where they had to be removed from the Discord server; I've also heard testimony from many victims who had either been disbelieved or were too scared to come forward because of the treatment of previous victims. it's been my opinion for years that Bright needs serious help to manage their sexual desires, because it seems to dominate their life to the extent that they can't seem to control themselves around high school kids. practically every word that comes out of their mouth is sexual.

I'm of the firm belief that Bright's "retirement" a while ago was actually them being asked to step down quietly in an attempt to either avoid a scandal or distance the wiki from Bright's actions, and I stand by that now. SCP staff have frequently covered for Bright's predatory behaviour and sexual abuse of minors, and they're only acting now, when they think they have the best chance of slipping under the radar. Bright has committed serious offences here: not only have they harrased minors, they've also propositioned them, shared sexual content with them, and if a minor has shared nudes with Bright, Bright is also in possession of child pornography. if the wiki gave a damn, they'd be reporting this pervert to the authorities. Bright needs to be locked up. I doubt they'll stop abusing minors just because the wiki gave them a ceremonial ban.

Hello, Daisy. I have a few questions. They are related to the Dr. Bright debacle, so feel free to delete this if that makes you uncomfortable.

First of all, are you okay with people making posts linking to your testimony? I've made some posts containing the Google Doc titled "Skeletons in the Amulet", and if this makes you uncomfortable, I will delete them.

Second of all, there are people with DID that have fictives (alternate personalities that take the form of a fictional character) of Doctor Jack Bright. Many of these people are not comfortable with the use of Elias Shaw, and some have outright stated that Shaw is triggering. What would you suggest for these people in this situation?

Honestly feel free to ask me about adminbright anytime. This goes for anyone who has questions about my testimony or the situation in general. The bastard has me blocked on Facebook but I still have the logs— that and I’ve figured out that being extremely detailed with receipts makes it harder for bright apologist squealers to cry “Political Corectness” or “Buzzkill” without looking like they’re backing up a nonce lol. I’m not a stranger to giving testimony on trauma in general and am more than happy to put on a brave face if it means others can stay safe and informed.

Now onto the two parter:

1. Fuck. Yes. Say no more. It puts AB on edge to hell and back. Actually, Mx. Peters has gone on two Facebook tyrades regarding my testimony before nuking their Facebook to private. They have other victims even irl that they’ve met at faires n cons, I still keep in touch with one actually.

The more this gets out alongside the aht message and Cimm’s video, the more impact it might have in fandom spaces they frequent. As of now they’re banned from two events due to the mountain of evidence that’s now levied against them. More awareness=less future victims. Use my doc as many times as your little heart desires.

2. Imma be real with you chief I am not a licensed shrink nor do I have full knowledge of DID aside from having three really good friends who have it. Actually it worries me quite a bit that there’s bright fictives given the whole possession fetish aspect of the character and how it enticed the sicko who created him. Only advice I can give is that you are in mostly full control to curate your personal experience online. Make use of the tag system here, mute words on Twitter, the works if you’re really that bothered by Shaw.

(Edit to add given that it’s been brought to my attention that this part can be confused for me still talking about people with DID, I’m talking about fully neurotypical people who use the character) I have several people who still use bright despite the trove of info on how that can be potentially dangerous blocked on here. It’s so weird to flex stanning some 40 year olds possession fetish character that they used (along with their position of power) to actively predate on minors and young adults but go off I guess?

If anyone gives me shit about Shaw tho? I bite back. I won’t tolerate being heckled about taking steps to minimize and prevent further damage from my groomer in this community in an attempt to heal from the shit I went through with Peters.

I was taken advantage of as a child when I was 9, once again when I was 16, and finally by bright when I was 20. The latter will be the last time I let it slide. I made a promise to myself that I will protect not only the past victims, some of whom I’m friends with, but also young impressionable fans from this lowlife coomer and their undeserved legacy. I will cyber bully (in Minecraft) anyone who tries to slam me for it. I will be the ultimate buzzkill for any indignant bright stan and call them out for indirectly sheltering the legacy of a predator. I’m not the only person tired of the character either. Many people on the wiki are and will side eye you at best if you complain about the overdue action being taken regarding bright the character.
