CALL FOR ZINE SUBMISSIONS: PLAY and MUSIC

We’re now accepting submissions for two upcoming issues!

PLAY

What does play mean to you? What does it make you think of? We want to know. Send us your written and visual art!

It makes me think of the play button on my portable CD player when I was in middle school. The button had a little bump on it so I could find it in the dark. I liked to listen to the Pokemon soundtrack while falling asleep but would always wake up during the Team Rocket song because they were an evil crime syndicate and who can just sleep through that.

Submissions for PLAY are due March 5.  Click here for submission guidelines.

MUSIC

In addition to the usual written and visual stuff, we’re accepting audio submissions for this issue! These will take shape as an album on Bandcamp for free streaming + download and as a CD in the physical copies we make.

Considerations for audio submissions:

“Music” is whatever. Send us songs and send us recordings of a breeze making its way through tall grass. Send us recordings of jokes about music. We’re all about open-ended themes.

We need lossless files (.aiff, .wav or .flac) for Bandcamp. If you only have an MP3, we’ll convert it, but we really prefer lossless files. Here’s some more info at Bandcamp.

Copyright is, of course, still yours. You own this stuff; we’re sharing it with permission.

This Bandcamp album will be a pay-what-you-want thing. People can pay nothing or something. If they choose to pay something, we’ll put it all toward the zine for expos and supplies.

Considerations for written and visual submissions :

Nothing beyond our usual guidelines.

Create something about your music scene, your favorite song, the rhythm your car makes when you idle at a light, a sound you associate with the past. As always, send us what you think is right.

All submissions for MUSIC are due April 15.
